The dude is a compromised insider who used his access and inside knowledge, I'm convinced, to sell American secrets. He was compromised long before becoming the Cult leader he is today, when Russia video bugged his room during his escapades with underaged Pageant contestants. He also made personal business arrangements with the Saudis and other corrupt leaders. He knows he will be defended and protected by his marching ants cult members on the idea of racist motivated movement of- Taking "Their" Country Back". That's far more important to his supporters than his obvious criminal acts of espionage and lawless acts.
