PSU with 390 yds rushing today...

Notice the rushing threads earn zero replies after more than a half hour. Everyone prefers to believe the spread means nothing but 4 wide and flinging the ball all cupcake style over the place.

Meanwhile Clemson led the nation in yards per rush. Oklahoma was 4th. Ohio State was 6th. LSU not in that territory but not bad at 35th.

That’s not true. Plenty want the thread so it can help improve the run game

Odd year for LSU without a stable of backs they usually have.

Also doesn't hurt to have the offense run through your Heisman trophy winner.

I remember triple digit rushing yards every game. Good times.

We have some of the tightest splits i've seen on the line and get very little push so there's usually limited space to run through....and for whatever reasons our RBs outside of Dallas don't always see the whole when there is one.

We need to creat better leverage angles for our guys

What amazed me at times this year was how bad our guys are at combo blocks. Both blockers stay on the same guy and never slide off to pick up LB/S coming down.....which is why we rarely break long runs. Between that and the times in pass pro where they block no one and allow a stunt or blitz right through makes me wonder what we rep in practice and in the film room.

Agreed, our blocking scheme and angles taken are horrendous. Hoping whoever the new OC brings in that we changes things up drastically. Also, it was nice to see where Penn St. knew they couldn’t do a blow for blow with Memphis and their vaunted offense. So how do you combat that? You run the **** ball, grind clock, and keep Memphis on the sidelines, which they did. The lead allowed the Nittany Lion’s defense to tee off on the Memphis QB which created turnovers eventually. See? Offense that compliments defense = winning football. It’s not rocket science.

this. The spread would help our run game. All these teams are running from the gun and 3 wide. We tried to run from under center like we are an NFL team with an elite O-line
