SEC will look a whole lot better, institutional profile-wise, when UNC, UVA, Duke and Georgia Tech come aboard.

The B1G geography problem will only get worse as it pertains to an outlier location like Miami

Dellenger has used that last line before. "The Aggies privately objected to the SEC's pursuit of Texas."

Translation: South Carolina's not keeping out Clemson, while UF's not keeping out FSU or Miami. If Sankey rounds up the votes from 75% of his university presidents -- and there's no reason to think he won't -- then any pushback is squashed as the Aggies quickly learned

I can live w the Independent move. Might be more lucrative in the end anyway.

I don't see how. We're not going to get our own network like ND. We're not going to be part of the SEC/B10 TV mega deals. With conference games going to 9, I imagine we're going to struggle to get interesting games on our schedule as long as we're independent. Who in the SEC or B10 will want to schedule us?

The only lucrative move is to join the B10 or SEC. I don't believe going independent sets us up for a more lucrative deal.

It’s not. No way this is a long term deal if it happens.
You can absolutely make more money independent than in a conference if you have the brand. The President wouldnt make that comment if he didnt mean it. Ofc its not the preference, but its not a bad fall back either. The biggest problem w going independe is theres a duopoly forming w the SEC and BIG 10, w smoke they are about to announce a scheduling agreement to game the new playoff system. We would get locked out of a meaningful schedule and basically still be in the ACC.
