Yeah that doesn’t change what i said tho. We are contracted to play games against them as well, as part of the 5 ACC opponents and additionally our inclusion in the ACC is inseparable from the conference’s 20 year media contract w/ ESPN.

If musical chairs and paperwork parties commence, all future bets are off. Which goes back to my point about the sequencing of everything. ND isn’t going to sit by if the ACC loses its strength thus weakening their schedule and if they feel like they need to finally join the B1G or risk losing marquee matchups, they’ll do so. And on the hierarchy of needs, the B1G will prefer ND to FSU; as well as UNC. The USC/UCLA move was made with the knowledge of ND’s rivalry with USC; and was thought to entice them to join. If that happened, would one of Oregon/Washington, or Stanford perhaps, been ND’s pairing for the 17th and 18th members of the conference?

But between the post-midterms push, plaintiffs attorneys being ready to pushback, conference leaders planning their own governance with basically all of the bill’s contents, & the B1G TV deals still being a few years (2030) away until expiration, it’s too many contingencies to try to predict any tangible impact.

All that being said, ND wants to stay independent, as i said. But they don’t have a death wish and would join the B1G if their backs were against the wall. But that hasn’t happened yet.

So maybe the Big Ten makes some concessions but I doubt it. I can hate on ND all I want. But if I was them, why would you join a power conference? They can schedule a bunch of no bodies, go 11-1 or 12-0 and make the CFP. Especially once it inevitably expands again. Wouldn’t shock me if they bent the Big 12 over and did scheduling with them. Because they’ll need a partner that isn’t currently G5 to fill OOC games.

Agreed, no shade to ND on how they go about their business. It’s kinda hilarious tho. They scheduled Nebraska for 2032 and 2033, just so happen to be the years after #1 qb in the country Trae Taylor will have left school lmfao.

I do think they want marquee games but they don’t want too many of them. . .they are trying to game the system in a way. They want big brands but not necessarily big brands who are currently in their groove. Swapping out BYU for USC in ‘26 and ‘27 actually turned out to make their schedule harder than it would’ve otherwise been. I feel like the increase to a 9-game conference schedule has really made their independence a lot harder, and why we see the only other independent in UConn trying to get football only membership w/ the American.

The independence with NBC is a boom for them, and in some cases, they aren’t running from the smoke. It was Cignetti + IU who cancelled UVA and ND’s home & home games, not them.

I still don’t think this thing ever passes but Moody’s amendment is gigantic for Miami. We need more spots in the P2 for us. This gives us that.

At the very least, the ACC and Big 12 battling for the 3rd largest conference, right? I would give the edge to the Big 12.

Need 22, and also need to get rid of the independent requirement before switching.

Any cap at all is bad for Miami. It hurts our bargaining power. The best for Miami is to be free and clear with interest/offers from both the SEC and Big10, so we don't have to take an Oregon deal. With only 1 or 2 spots left, we have less leverage on the Big10 and they have more leverage over us.
