Funny thing is, if they. just stuck to what was important it would have unanimous support and this would have breezed right through both chambers and been done already.

A limited antitrust exemption + Federal preemption (prevent overriding actions by state laws and judges) on eligibility rules
5yrs to play 5 seasons
1 free transfer
etc etc
(basic ability to enforce rules)

That would be a nice base to at least allow the sport to function without a lot of these lawsuits and silliness.

Throwing in the conference limits, independent status mandates, salary caps etc made it messy and bound to fail. Those are bigger topics that require more time, effort and must have input from players

I realize there’s value in political maneuvering but it might be time to pull the nuclear option and get FSU Clemson UNC and others on board against this.

Don’t know why Texas Tech is supporting this.

I'll put my trust in Joe and the BOT. They got Nike done. Their influence is widespread. doubt any AD would do more

All the people bragging about his ties to the university need to convince him that it’s ******** us if this passes especially the conference limits.

Trump changes his mind all the time as the wind blows. Convince him it’s a win for him or he needs xyz done instead.

I'm confused. What exactly is the CBC asking for in the bill to "help black athletes ?"

Agreed. You can work on the issues with 90% approval and table the rest.

Salary caps and stopping realignment are not universally supported.

So the ncaa go after teams why other cheat and they turn a blind eye to it . Miami fans should not want them to get involved . It allows the ncaa to go after us again

The senate is trying to give the NCAA a broad anti-trust exemption which would give them broad authority to do what they want. Ironic that while this guy was voting for giving one multi billion dollar monopoly an anti trust exemption he was voting against another that was asking for similar exemptions
