Agreed but it's already showing signs of being changed. Long road ahead of it.
 
It’s amazing how Democrats like bill sponsor Maria ****well have no problem capping players wages but always act like they care about people getting paid fairly.

The people convincing themselves this bill dead in the house may be fooling themselves.

This bill has far more bipartisan support than they realize, or at least willing to acknowledge. They are also taking for granted that dems will retake the house, and possibly senate, when that’s far from a guarantee. Sure polling suggests that’s what will happen, but polling has been very inaccurate for several election cycles now.

Some folks here need to watch more horror movies. The monster believed to be dead has a tendency to jump back to life late in the third act.

I guess you didn’t read what Cory Booker just said about it. Might wanna look at that first.
 
Cory Booker voted against But 77 still voted for it! The 2 Florida senators voted no as well but it got more votes this time around!

Like I said, it will die in the house. And that’s a good thing for UM and athletes. How in the world was not one athlete a part of this negotiation is beyond me and totally corrupt. How many times does collective-bargaining need to be said to get to these idiots heads?!

I read what he said. Like his very disingenuous second paragraph where he questions different standards for coaches and players on transfers when we all know the answer. Players are not employees and coaches are. You can argue all you want about whether players should be employees, but the fact is they currently are not employees and every single university, conference, and the NCAA want to keep it that way. There’s a lot of money behind this, and a lot of bipartisan support. Dont fall for the banana in the tailpipe just because Corey Booker is putting on a show to score political points.

This bill will die in Congress because it is clearly unfair to the athlete/labor, and the NCAA is as corrupt and unlikable as it gets. Again, it is good for the athletes and good for UM that this Bill will die. Collective bargaining is the only solution moving forward.

Look, I support collect bargaining and also think it’s the answer.

The reality is we are still a very long way from that happening. Players are not classified as employees. That is just a fact and the NCAA, conferences, and every single university want to keep it that way. You are underestimating how much money is behind this and hard the lobbying for it is.

You seem to believe this will fail because it’s not good for the players, and hopefully you’re right. The glaring problem with that belief is congress tends to vote with those who have the money and lobbying power, and that’s not the players.

That’s fine, but until collective-bargaining is done, any Bill the old guard tries to put through will die either in the house or the Senate. Eventually, they will learn and collective-bargaining will be done. Again, not one athlete was a part of this negotiation and that’s unacceptable! First off, trying to limit their money earning potential is against the law, which is really going back to the Eddie oBannion lawsuit, the start of all of this.

On the money earning issue, the current bill has language that essentially says third party NIL isn’t capped. That’s the attempt and working around any legal issue. Who knows if it will fly or not, but don’t assume it wouldn’t.

As for the rest of your post, yiure just repeating yourself. You’re fully convinced the bill will die because it doesn’t have player representation while ignoring reality, which is congress rarely cares about the opinions of those not giving them money.

Another issue being ignored is that CFB fandom as a a majority are fed up with lots of things going on in CFB. The majority want rules put in place to stop the Wild West situation currently going, but the fandom doesn’t agree on the answers either. For every UM fan calling their congressman to say kill this bill you have a fan of say an SEC team calling their congressman because they want this bill to pass.
 
It doesn’t help that schools like Syracuse needs this done to trap Miami in the ACC so senators like Chuck Schumer are voting for it even though it’s screws athletes. It helps keep the ****** Orange in the ACC with us.
