Portis spoke to the team about being ready when your time comes. How you are one play away, and your what if is now. Well tonight Dallas took every word of that speech and took it to the field. He stepped up in a major way and won this game for this team.

Game stats:
33 caries, 137 yards, 4.2 avg, 2 TD's, & a blocked punt. That was one of the greatest performances I have seen in a very long time.

What a unselfish guy. He is the true definition of a team player. A few more guys like him on this team and we will be winning championships again.

According to acc digital network twitter handle Portis pulled Crawford to the sideline and said "this is your moment" on the final drive

Yes he did and it was impressive to watch. Crawford made a great statement saying something like he can't be stopped from four yards out. He said that's why you work so hard so that you can score. That's confidence and it's awesome

Portis, who works as an analyst for ACC Digital Network, said his speech was “just about being ready.” He gave Crawford a late-game reminder of his message on the sideline.

“In the fourth quarter, watching him run up and down the field on special teams, and with Duke out, I just had to tell him, ‘Here’s your moment we talked about. This is your moment. How will you respond?’”

Crawford said it calmed him down.

“He responded as he should,” Portis said.

How about it had nothing to do with what Portis said, and everything to do with what he has been from the get go with us?
