Proposed House settlement and NIL

You guys happy now?

When When NIL gets the hammer & Miami can no longer compete for top players via Portal or High School, I hope all the anti-NIL crowd has a big celebration.

Who is this anti-NIL crowd you speak of? I’m sure there are a couple, but the majority of pushback has been that there needs to be some structure, guard rails, CBA, and so forth in order to create a level playing field.

Just need some “common sense” instilled in all the obvious chaos. The current state of NIL is NOT sustainable.

The guardrails & structure many of you seek will only make it harder for Miami.

You all can't see it now, but once yall get what you've been hoping for, it will come at the detriment to Miami's ability to acquire top level players.

It's a classic "Be careful what you wish for.." situation.

You're exactly right. Our over reliance on the portal is about to bite us in the ***. And anything that limits what we can (over)spend on players is going to be a major problem.

I've spoken to more than a few coaches who think the the House settlement is going to significantly reduce the number of players who enter the portal over the next few seasons because of the $600 cap on NIL.

Pre-House NIL deals are grandfathered in. Players aren't going to give up tens of thousands in grandfathered NIL to transfer to Miami for $600.

Good thing we stocked our QB room before NIL gets capped. Oh wait..

Few years back there was plenty of Anti - NIL posters .. very prominent posters .. how NIL would make the big schools widen the gap on us .

Personally imo , The portal is more of an issue due to the ability of a player to leave a program at any time .. even after collecting money from an institution.. or getting developed .. it also depletes depth / and ability to create a dynasty or sustainable program. Then top programs are tampering smaller programs to get their players in the
Portal creating an unequal playing field

Btw Send me some Graeters bro black raspberry

How?

Because the SEC got away with cheating before so it will happen again?

The portal NIL combo is definitely a problem.

The Graeters comment went over my head. If that’s a Cincinnati thing, I’m not from Cincinnati. It just rhymes well.
