Progress but still some alarming trends

This we can’t seem to get any traction on early downs.

Im confused as to why u bring in an OC that recruits the type of QBs that defenses like yours feasts on. Enos was probably the worst hire Manny made. His scheme is not a fit.

Is his mobility more Bryce Perkins, Sam Howell and Henson Hooker, or is it more of a Alex Hornibrook?

He’s considered a “standstill” QB. Hornibrook had an 8 yard run for a first down yesterday. That doesn’t make him a mobile QB.

Enos is bringing in the exact type of QB that Manny loves to face. Enos was a horrible hire.

Howell runs a 5.00 40 yard dash but is still “mobile”. Van dyke had 8 rushes for 71 yards the other night too

In the end what would be the point of recruiting a mobile QB? Enos has no desire to work QB mobility into the offense.

ND can run read option with IAN ******* BOOK to beat ND, but god forbid Enos adds in another option the defense has to account for to help open up the running game. Nopeeeeee.

I guess u missed the stat where Briles has fielded a better offense than us this year. In fact, Briles has fielded a better offense than Enos every year he has coached. But you’re right, if Enos was the OC for FSU last night he would have picked our defense apart.

If we suck on 1st and 2nd down and are terrible on 3rd down, how’d we get all those yards and points? I think we are probably pretty decent on one of those downs.
 
Most alarming trend is Manny not calling timeouts when the play clock runs down. For both delay of game penalties, we had three timeouts. UNACCEPTABLE. He has to do a better job of game management. I know he wants Jarren to be mindful of the play clock, but as the head coach he has to be even more aware of these things. Jarren is a redshirt freshman. Manny been getting PAID to coach for years. He has to do better than this.

Bro..just let it go. You have absolutely no clue as to what you're talking about. All you do is say the same hoe *** **** over & over again..regarding how Spread is the best Offense, blah, blah, blah. Just stop. Saying something repeatedly to ad-nauseum doesn't make it true fyi

Enos stats vs briles after va tech game. Briles has been better than Taggart last year but he hasn’t been that good period... I’m not even that big on enos playcalling (it ain’t bad and it great either) but he called a much better game than briles did head to head and it isn’t even close

Didn’t like the qb sneak there after we had to reset. So that’s 2 opportunities that hurt us from moving the ball in the 3rd and extending drives. Still think we moved the ball throughout the game pretty well outside of the 3rd quarter though

When we had to wait and reset, I was SCREAMING NOoooooooo!! Definitely a momentum breaker.
 
The trend that still bothers me is that we are unable to run outside. No matter what side we usually lose yardage or barely gain any yards. There is just not an outside running game
 
Looks like we currently have the #9 recruiting class. Securing that and/or making it better should be priority #1 outside of winning.

We have that ranking because the other schools have yet to put on the pressure.

Wtf, so is the QB we recruit gonna be playing us every week. With a good OL it doesn’t matter what type of QB you have. Hornibrook carved us up when he was at Wisconsin and He had a great O line then. He has way more skill position talent around him at FSU except for the o line. See the difference in performances. Same QB, better position talent, ****tier o-line and he got his shot split against us this game. And that is with your dream boy calling plays and running the offense you being calling for.
 
And how many times will the OL block one defender w/ two while one defender runs free at the QB?

Refs didn’t cheat us on that 4th down; it was the right call. Mallory simulated like he was going out for a substitution. Rules state that if the O subs, or simulates a sub, the defense is allowed a sub.

The problem was we weren’t organized on that 4th down play; it seemed a bit spontaneous v. thought out, hence the confusion from Will.

Regardless, it was our most clean played game, relatively speaking. We need to clean up those 3rd Downs, though. We shouldn’t have to avg 3rd & long every possession.

This; mobility v. pocket presence or the ability to move w/in the pocket. Brady, and Manning ain’t running low 4’s in the 40, but their ability to move within the pocket is second to none. Same w Joe Montana & Dan Marino or Warren Moon. Think QBs mobility is over stated; give me the QB that has an arm, accurate, and has pocket presence over the one that’s an athlete.
