Progress but still some alarming trends

Penalties are way down from where we’ve been really since randy took over. It’s great to see.

defense again is elite. It’s really saddening that we won’t get to play for more. This defense the last 2 seasons has been lockdown.

offense glad we spread it out. Had guys running in space...but this game SHOULD have been put away in the 3rd. We had 3 drives start inside their 50 and 1 on the 29. To not get any points out of that was disheartening.

overall it feels great to get a win like this over the Noles.

Let’s show out at the Rock next week!

Edit: 3rd downs sucks again for the 1,000,000th time this decade.

That hold by scaife hurt on that one drive hurt in the 3rd where we converted a 3rd and long from Jarren to deejay. Also that 4th down sequence was crazy too, refs cheated us but is what it is. Didn’t like the qb sneak there after we had to reset. So that’s 2 opportunities that hurt us from moving the ball in the 3rd and extending drives. Still think we moved the ball throughout the game pretty well outside of the 3rd quarter though

The defense will continue to be elite in large part due to the fact that we run a scheme that fits our players. If only we could get that on the offensive side of the ball.

Manny said we got all of those sacks bc this is the first time we faced standstill target at QB. so why in the **** is he letting Enos recruit standstill targets? Makes zero sense.

hahah good point.

The offense’s inability to convert on field position.

Jarren is not a standstill QB. The young single caller has plenty of wiggle to escape the pocket allowing him to extend plays. I think we're seeing #15 getting better in reading defenses and feeling the pressure. Let's hope he continues to study hard and if he does this, sky is the limit for him!

Would there been a completion?
Would there have been a sack?

QB sneak was the only outcome that could/should have been changed

It was a 15 yard completion to Dallas on the play where scaife held on 3rd and long. I think It still would have been a completion for sure, Williams has made more difficult throws than that even with pressure in his face

U must have misread. I said he’s letting Enos recruit standstill QBs. Never did I say Jarren was a standstill QB.

Im confused as to why u bring in an OC that recruits the type of QBs that defenses like yours feasts on. Enos was probably the worst hire Manny made. His scheme is not a fit.

The refs did not cheat us, they followed the rule. Our dumbass player apparently didn't know what was going on, and once that happened Manny should have called TO.

Here let me clear this up.. This is still alarming to me!

3rd down conversions suck, still

Cant find a way to score more than three TDs, noatter where we start on offense, still

PEnos stopped running screens and draws to the short side as much.....but still runs too damned many screens and draws

Staff has a tough time in critical points with decision making, i.e. The play call and decision on the 4th down conversion, considering the series of events

My concerns:
- Not using our time outs on two third down situations where we got delay of game penalties (those two are on Manny)
- Our third down conversion rate is atrocious (those are mostly on Enos’ play calling, some of his calls were brilliant but he still calls some awful plays on 1st and 2nd down that routinely leave us on third and long situations)
- as Brock mentioned, some key penalties that stalled drives

overall, much better, but we had great field position most of the game and failed to capitalize on those situations. We’ve improved but still have a lot of work to do.

It’s not really our 3rd down offense sucks.
We were averaging 3rd and 10 at one point in the game.
We’re at 3rd and 9ish on average for the season.

There is no such thing as a team that is good on 3rd and 9. The trick is to not always get into 3rd and 9.
Our real problem is we suck on 1st and 2nd down.

Van Dyke can move just as well as Hornibrook and Blackman. He doesn’t move as well as Jarren or Kosi. You’re clearly the only one who would consider him more of a mobile QB than a “standstill” QB. I bet Van Dyke is even listed as a pro style QB on 247. But yeah, he wouldn’t be considered one of those “standstill” QBs Manny was speaking of.

You know his shuttle time is a 4.27 right? He can move in the pocket and not a statue by any means. Only a 4.9 40 but again, this is not a kaaya situation where’s Hes immobile
