Hello again Canes fans, we had another great UM win over the weekend, but also a plethora of appearances from old Canes heads, so here’s the Week 3 recap on your NFL ProCanes.

RB

ProCane success at running back this week was a little underwhelming. In the Browns’ first win in over two years, Duke Johnson had a couple of carries for 9 yards. Texans RB Lamar Miller had a tough day as well with 10 yards off 10 carries with one fumble, but added 5 receptions for 41 yards. In a exciting comeback win against the Raiders, Dolphins RB Frank Gore had six carries for 22 yards.

WR

Allen Hurns is the lone man to hit the stat sheet at wide receiver this week, as the Cowboys’ wideout had two catches for 22 yards against the Seahawks on four targets. Patriots WR Phillip Dorsett underwent a number of precautionary tests on his knee over the weekend, but is expected to be ready for Week 4 against the Dolphins.

TE

At tight end, one of Aaron Rodgers’ favorite targets in the Packers’ Jimmy Graham caught five passes for 45 yards. Browns’ TE David Njoku finished with 36 yards on two catches against the Jets, while Colts’ TE Erik Swoope caught one pass for seven yards.

DL

In what easily was his best game so far, Chiefs DE Allen Bailey was a force with four tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack. Jaguars DE Calais Campbell had another dominant game with five tackles, three tackles for loss, and two sacks in a tough 9-6 loss to the Titans and Colts DE Al-Quadin Muhammad added two tackles.

LB

Chargers LB Denzel Perryman had a monster game, leading the team with 10 total tackles, while Giants LB Ray Ray Armstrong added two tackles against the Texas.

DB

At cornerback, in what’s now known as the LA Derby, Rams CB Sam Shields had four tackles and broke up a would-be touchdown in the fourth quarter against the Chargers. Steelers CB Artie Burns was benched by coach Mike Tomlin after a subpar performance the week before, but was inserted to the game on the second drive and he instantly made up for lost time with a forced fumble to go along with 4 tackles.

K/P

Former UM double-duty specialist Matt Bosher had five punts for a 48.2 average yards per punt for the Falcons, landing one punt inside the 20. In a 16-14 win over the Cardinals, Bears P Pat O’Donnell had three punts for 158 yards with a long of 61.
