Duke getting the ball more, a season-ending injury, and a former UM kicker assuming all kicking duties for one team comprise this week’s ProCanes NFL Recap.


RB

Dolphins’ RB Frank Gore has shown no signs of slowing down as he ran for 90 yards on 13 carries in rigid conditions in Green Bay. For the Browns, Duke Johnson had three carries for 15 yards and through the air, he caught four passes for 31 yards and a touchdown as Cleveland won their third game of the season.

WR

The Cowboys’ Allen Hurns was targeted twice against Philadelphia and caught both for 40 yards. New England’s Phillip Dorsett caught two passes for 18 yards in a tough loss to the Titans.

TE

The Packers’ Jimmy Graham only caught one pass for 14 yards in a win over the Dolphins. Greg Olsen caught four passes for 60 yards on six targets in the Panthers’ 52-21 loss to the Steelers. Chris Herndon was the leading receiver against the Bills, catching three passes for 34 yards for the Jets. Cleveland’s David Njoku had one catch for 18 yards.

DL

Kansas City’s Allen Bailey had two tackles with one sack and in the same game, the Cardinals’ Olsen Pierre recorded two tackles in what was another win for the Chiefs. Jacksonville’s Calais Campbell had five tackles to go along with two tackles for loss in a loss to the Colts. Olivier Vernon had on tackle for the Giants in a win on Monday night. The Steelers’ Anthony Chickillo recorded a tackle against the Panthers.

LB

In injury news, on the second play of the game against Oakland, Charger’ LB Denzel Perryman suffered an LCL injury in his left knee that will sideline him for the rest of the season. Perryman is currently second on the team with 51 tackles.

DB

The Chargers’ Rayshawn Jenkins recorded one tackle in a win over Oakland.

In his first game as official starting kicker for the Chargers, Mike Badgley had a flawless day, going 2/2 on field goals and 2/2 on extra points in a 20-6 win over the Raiders. The Bears’ Pat O’Donnell punted the ball three times for 144 yards, landing one inside the 20 in a home win over the Lions. Matt Bosher had three punts for the Falcons for 118 yards, landing two inside the 20.
