Versus Clemson, but it’s sad to think that we could easily be undefeated at this point. Especially watching the Gators hang with LSU right now.

Goes to show how important those early games are to gain momentum and build confidence. We literally handed all our losses to the other team and we’re not outplayed tbh.

Just outcoached, you just have to put the best players on the field. And this staff can’t evaluate the talent on their own team. Perry should’ve started from day 1. And our coordinators are garbage. Let’s see how we finish the year, Manny ain’t going anywhere anytime soon, just have to hope he makes necessary staff changes.

That is a great observation. I hsve been talking about evals in recruiting discussions for ages. But if you can’t even assess your own guys well, it’s pretty certain you won’t be above average at assessing kids you have less contact with.

Exactly, can’t expect good recruiting evals with this staff given the choices they’ve made with roster so far.

with the current roster and players, its time to consider a very sobering reality: our Canes were not "this close" to being undefeated at this point.

It appears more likely UF, UNC, and VT just weren't blowout losses (although Hokie game was headed that way) like they truly could have been.

This team is an entire OL from even sniffing average D1P5 at this point.

Like you, it pains me to hear and see this.

JFC.

Devils advocate here so don’t kill me lol...

Saban and Dabo first years weren’t great, no? And has Miami really taken a massive step back from last year?

Again, just devils advocate!!!!!

No, but they were steps in the right direction. Both won more games than the year before. So did Mullen.

combination.

Miami's OL is DIII caliber. OL coaches past several years havent been able to coach/motivate them to performance levels greater than their [OL] inherent abilities.

EVERYTHING in FB runs through OLs and DLs.

in my opinion, there is no total position more important than these two collections of athletes.

O-Line is horrible. But were we not in position to win each one of those games?

Agreed. Miami was in a position to win no doubt.

The questions: was it a fluke? should they have been?

put yourself in UF, UNC, and VT fans shoes...you could objectively make argument those team allowed a weaker Canes squad to hang around unnecessarily.

look at UF-LSU tilt. With Miami's O unable to score and D allowing catastrophic plays 2-3 times per game, it would be embarrassing to see Canes play those teams now.

I have a very deep operational and process improvement background--I now see an organization that has several key linkages (recruiting, training, leadership decisions) that are broken--broken hard.

Can it be fixed? sure. can these coaches and athletes fix it? i once thought so, now not so much
