We basically have a half of a staff. Are we allowed to 'officially" assign our Analyst type guys on a temporary basis (say DVD for instance) to the crootin trail so we have more numbers hitting the pavement today?

You have 11 total coaches on a full staff plus analysts but only 10 TOTAL can recruit so one position (and the analysts) usually stay but it is on a day to day basis. You can have 10 peopl from your entire staff recruiting no matter their title with the right paper work at any given time. Since we only have 6 coaches, we can put 4 analysts and other personnel to recruit. Not a stupid question at all.

This might be an even more idiotic question related to recruiting and our OC as well (and this is my first post here, so don't roast me too bad haha) but, is there ANY potential that our OC is already locked in and the deal hasn't been finalized with the intent that the OC could have contact with recruits during the dead period since they weren't actually part of UM yet?
 
The one positive is it’s good experience for guys like Cooney and DVD to get to visit recruits. Plus it’ll strengthen their relationships with them considering they’re heads of recruiting O and D now.

Fairly certain this is wrong. Every school has 1 head coach and 10 on-field assistants. All 11 of those dudes can recruit on and off-campus.

If they are not officially on staff with paperwork done then they cant be recruiting for the school so this could be the case

Oh OK....I misunderstood you. I thought you meant only 10 could be designated as off-campus recruiters.....i.e. the OL coach (just for a generic example) can't go recruit, but the other guys can. I know that's not true. I didn't know only 10 could be on the road at one time, but that doesn't make a difference really.
 
I understand the #s rules. I get the 10 coaches. My thing is more like how "official" is it? For instance, let's say we have 4 of our "bullpen coaches" on the road today. We hire our 4 field coaches tomorrow. Can they just swap out whenever they please? The 4 for the 4 in my scenario. OR, is it an "OFFICIAL" thing with the NCAA (paperwork, etc)? Otherwise, Sly Dog Saban probably has 70 dudes out there "unofficially": While these 9 were coming back, 9 new ones went out, ad infinitum.
