2014 Player Comparisons:

Since it's the off-season, now would be a good time to debut a project I've been working on for a while. Here are some comparisons between Miami skill-position recruits and current NFL players based on skillset and physical gifts. This doesn't mean the recruits will turn out as good as these guys, but it is just a comparison of styles.

Brad Kaaya: Joe Flacco

I think this might surprise people. Both posses a good release and display good feet in the pocket. One area that Kaaya has Flacco beat is his athletic ability. Both can make all the throws and put nice air under the ball to allow their receivers to go get it.

Alin Edouard: Robert Griffin III

This may seem like an obvious comparison and a reach at the same time. Edouard’s release is very similar to Griffin's, even though Griffin's is quicker. The big difference between the two is arm strength. Although both can hurl it down the field, Griffin displays the ability to zip it with some heat. Edouard will develop this ability as time goes on. Griffin has a major edge in terms of pure speed. Edouard is quick and shifty but RGIII is the fastest quarterback in the world.

Malik Rosier: Drew Brees

I know many will say Russell Wilson, but I think Brees is a closer comparison in terms of passing style. My favorite attribute about both guys is how they use their feet so well to throw the ball. When Brees loads up to throw, his feet are the same way every time and he gets tremendous torque when he releases. Rosier can do the same.

Before the inevitable deluge of indignant scoffing begins, let's everyone take time to re-read the top of Tito's post which talks about these comparisons in terms of physical gifts and skillsets, not in terms of results and career paths.

Carry on!

Olsen reminds me of Tom Brady or Montana

HBK reminds me of Peyton Manning

Who's with me?

I love it. Tito if you could for the next one please put our recruit's measurable as well so its right there for comparison.

For instance you put Flacco's high school physicals...so right around that one put Kaaya's physicals.

Great work though.

And it says "Pro Comparisons"...

My opinion to say RGIII is the fastest QB in the world compared to Michael Vick is an insult... Smh... Dont see any QB touching Vick in HS,Vtech, Falcon Days, he's just now becoming a mobile QB before he was just a blur... I cant say the same for RG3

Don't really like the Flacco comparison, Kaaya probably has better mechanics now than Flacco did as a senior at Delaware. Flacco also has a stronger and more fluid arm (in the sense that he can throw from a bunch of different angles to different spots, arm talent is another phrase that gets used for this I guess).

Physically Kaaya does actually remind me of Peyton a fair amount. Footwork is similiar (though Peyton keeps his feet moving more than any other QB ever) and they're very similar mechanically. Both have plus arms but they're not elite.

The Brees comparison is interesting, but Drew developed his game such a huge amount since going to NO, and his arm has gotten a lot better. Purely physically, Rosier is a step above Brees with both his arm and his leg.

Physical comparison's for QBs are always interesting, but intelligence and accuracy matter such an insane amount with QBs, that even if they're similar physically, it really doesn't mean too much projecting them going forward.

I've said it before, but watching Kaaya's senior season is going to be so much fun. Physically it's hard to ask for much more from a QB prospect, and after one year of starting he's already one of the smartest HS QBs in the country, and has done nothing but get better and better over the summer.

Alin Edourad to Dennis Dixon is a comparison I like. Alin is very raw as a qb but does some abilities that rg3 had in high school. Doesn't mean he will put it all together like griffin. Its hard to find a guy that matches what kaaya brings to the table, I really don't see a pure comparison for him but he does a lot of things multiple good qbs do.

RG3 could've been an Olympian. Saying anyone is slower than him should not be an insult.

RG3 is pretty god **** fast. He is less elusive than Vick because he is a bigger target.

I would compare Alin more to a David Garrard type.

Rozier reminds me more of a Christian Ponder.

Nice work. I think nay would be happy to be the pro you compare them to. For me, I just want one to be a Bernie, Steve, Craig, Gino or Kenny. NCs is what I want. But good stuff to think about during the summer.

hurdles and straight line speed is different, put some hurdles in front of bolt and you got a different race. i think during his "sports science" show he musured faster then Adrian Peterson

You need to stop with these stupid comparison posts..they play HS ball with HS players...I know its off season and you put lots of work in..but really Joe Flacco and RG3
The highest paid NFL MVP Super bowl guy and 2011 Heisman guy...OKAY!!

Please, when does the season start? This is well intended and don't mean to disparge the effort, but this is gibberish nonsense. Let them develop, play and be themselves. Can only assume Yearby is a modern day Payton.

@ tito

True. I know it's off subject but he isn't a sprinter more distance. If you were to compare Vick speed in HS and College and years before the dog incident it's insane... I believe he'll still give RG3 a run for his money in the 60 today no hurdles ha ha!

@ Artist

Not picking a fight but be real if you had to choose straight sprint 60 yd dash Michael vick Rookie 99' vs RG3 12' would you still pick RG3
