Paying private school athletes players as employees could change the game. Miami could benefit, however, I doubt the rest of the CFB world would stand for this as public schools would push for changes. Rule changes (public schools) would include stipends and turn this CFB into a charity drive. We can't even fund a IPF. We might benefit short term, but as public schools caught up, Miami would be left in the dust long term. It's important to note that the NLRB is indenpent government agency that enforces labor laws. Thoughts?

The athletic department currently reimburses the university for every scholarship handed out. Don't think UM wants to pay out.

Major public universities already paying players.

Private schools need some special advantage because the public schools get away with absolutely anything they want. The fact they are able to pay players and their families creates an inability for any private college to recruit most of these players or keep their teams competitive against them. The NCAA doesn't do a damned thing to these schools but hammers any private school that offers these kids a nickel. It's ridiculous.
