Pringle to the Portal (****)

Lyle can be that guy.

Fletcher isn't a different style but he still banged for the longest run in CFB history.
What did you see from Lyle that made you think he can be that guy?

Same OC, same-ish offense id imagine. At least same run schemes.

Lyle couldn’t do anything with his carries and Pringle did. This is a big loss.

These kids just don't get it. There's a good chance Pringle would have seen a ton of action next fall, because he brings something Fletch and Brown doesn't. When you have a unique niche, you tend to get used. Oh well.
Can’t blame the kid. He had that same unique talent this year, and he didn’t much of a chance in the big games. Who’s to say they don’t rely heavy on Fletcher and Brown next year? Averaged little over 6 ypc, for a true freshman. Should have found ways to get him touches. I think we could have used his speed against Indiana.

Pringle willingly chose to walk away, knowing that there's a good chance he would be a significant part of the backfield in 2026. I know that this fanbase is getting their jollies by blaming Dawson for EVERYTHING, but GTFO with this nonsense. This is a case of a young man that is listening to the wrong people. Instead of improving in the one area that may be the one area that could limit his PT in high pressure situations(Pass Pro), he has decided to transfer. That's his business, but Mike Bobo isn't going to utilize Pringle in the same way that Dawson did and honestly, that's not a good thing.

Bobo is your typical meat head SEC OC, I hope Pringle is prepared to take a beating behind a rebuilding OL and a prehistoric run scheme. Oh well, it's the time we live in, I hope this young man realizes that when things go sideways, there's no turning back.

I thought he just went the wrong way and missed his block forcing Beck to scramble. Did he also get run over on a play?

Did it last year.
It's clear he was hurt this year or something was up, I ain't worried.

He was a good running back no doubt.
Great slasher and had a decisive first cut.
But those types grow on trees, the difference between great and elite is pass pro. The CFL is filled with those types. He's young, I hope he would have stayed and learned, and not pushed out.

When you are dealing with teams that throw a lot of different looks up front and rely on movement, you want someone that can help out in the blocking game. Pringle was able to flash as a true freshman, but when the crap hit the fan, the staff went with consistent players who could do everything asked of them. Fletch balled out, Brown did his job as well. It wasn't like Pringle was sitting behind Charlie Jones. I thought this young man had the maturity to go to someone like Fletch and say "Hey, I gotta get better at pass pro, I need to work with you on it". Had he done that, I could have easily seen him surpassing Brown on the depth chart and being the legit #2 with Fletch.

He’s doing what he feels he needs to do. At some point, the portal will not only be players who can actually move the needle for a team, but also lots who think they can.

If it’s true he’s considering Bama it must be a money thing because DeBoer doesn’t prioritize running the ball and the OL is in disarray.

This is the part of the portal/nil i get annoyed with lol. Played alot for your freshman year and now you leave because you didn’t play in the playoffs even tho you saw fletch going crazy? This is the microwave/instant gratification era

He was RB1 in 2026 until Fletcher’s playoff performance.

Would have loved to keep him as a compliment to Fletch.
No he wasn't. He only got burn because Fletch was hurt. Fletcher was always RB1 if he came back. Now he could have passed Brown and Lyle for sure but I guess staying and improving on your weaknesses is frowned upon with kids these days.
