That run is designed to go between the guard and tackle, but he saw the defender crashing his gap and had the vision and athleticism to bounce it outside, and the speed to outrun everyone to the goal line. Very impressive run. I liked him a lot out of HS, but he has exceeded expectations so far.

His on the field burst from the LOS to 30-35 yds out is the fastest I have seen in our backfield since Willis.

I have no idea how someone could watch both of their high school tape and come away thinking Riley was the better prospect. Said this before either of them flipped while Riley was still committed. Lyle’s vision and contact balance are incredible, and while Riley is quicker I always thought Lyle had more long speed.

Can we not re-write history about Jordan Lyle? On3 had him as the #1 RB in the country last year. He was legit and is showing why he was rated so high.

Love the speed to make that a big play, but I will pound the table that RBs win with vision and feel. He’s got that and I hope we use it when we need it most. Very few plays are perfectly blocked, so RBs have to beat a LB or Safety filling the alley.
