Not that it’s ever not, but Mario has to face facts. This isn’t a normal first season. There is a generational shift happening in college athletics right now, and it happening far more rapidly than pretty much anyone thought.

At the speed the two super conferences are taking shape, and the NCAA is becoming completely irrelevant, it seems like Mario has one year max to show on the field that Miami is a major player again. Not to mention literally one year to win the Coastal before it no longer exists.

We do that, and we solidify the momentum we have which translates to greater leverage for the program to negotiate the best new conference positioning possible. There would be no doubt whatsoever, between brand history, trajectory, and metro area, that we are a diamond for Big10 and SEC to jockey over.

This opportunity will not present itself again.

Mario gonna come out of the gates A blazing!! Dude is going to go out of his way to make a statement. We getting ready to right this ship ! Lord knows we’ve been dealing with rough seas for long enough.
For the 1st time on a very long time, I’m feeling good about the direction of the program.

I don’t think that’s where the pressure is greatest! I think beating Texas A&M and keeping up with the NIL wars. With us & Jimbo have been in the media this year for NIL. I think the team has to do their part and stay relevant throughout the year. But I definitely agree that he has to hit the ground running more than most!

I’d like to see us in the SEC for sure. If FSU doesn’t come then we can schedule them as our yearly out of conference game along with VT every other year. This way the turds can’t duck us anymore.

One FACT is that UM is a top 15 college football brand by every rating service and the networks KNOW very well that UM matched up with any decent team = viewership ratings. UM will be a part of any major conference restructuring in the event that the "super conference" format ends up being developed and implemented.
