I've tried to tell people...the cash-money involved in the adidas deal pales in comparison to all of the other deals we have cooking.

As long as Miami continues to not get a 15% royalty, the entire amount of "guaranteed" cash money we've been paid by adidas...is roughly equal to the value of a 6 acre strip of land that we have used for NOTHING for decades.

I want a 15% royalty deal with the best all-apparel company out there, but I'm also aware that the Big 10 and the building projects and the new sports and the research money and the new buildings...will all be bigger deals than whatever apparel manufacturer we select (which has effectively already been selected anyhow).

Lots of people on this board have connections to Bull Gators. Ask around. Find out how much their Jordan 15% royalty pays them in total cash-money. Then maybe we can have an honest conversation, without the lies of "but Nike lowballed us".

Does anyone honestly believe that SEC schools after SEC schools are going to take 15% royalty deals if it won't result in MORE MONEY for them? Come on, now...

I'm just tired of arguing with people who don't know how to evaluate and compare two bids that use different payout methodologies.

Well sht…

If South Carolina has the wherewithal to bank on their brand and rely on a higher share of royalties, I don’t understand why us - A NATIONAL (cannot emphasize that enough) BRAND - won’t do the same. We make another run and every high school player in America will be an owner of a Malachi Toney jersey.

There are U’s to be spotted even out here in Northern California.
 
I don’t want to read it…so I am going to assume we are now one step closer to an on campus stadium!!!

As soon as we drain Lake Osceola, yes. After all, that was the original site and the original intention of Coral Gables founder George Merrick, to put the UM stadium where Lake Osceola is now (it was just a canal back then). And Coral Gables WAS the first planned community in the United States.

So I'm fine with reverting back to the original plan...

But, hey, who knows whether the current Coral Gables politicians would agree...

This president and this football program know exactly what they’re doing. Miami is going to sign the deal that is best for Miami, regardless of whether it’s Nike, Adidas, or anyone else.

That should tell you everything you need to know about how this administration approaches major decisions moving forward. They’re going to exhaust every option and do what they believe is in Miami’s best interest. This report is further evidence of that. Enjoy the ride, we are in a great era for the university and our athletics (outside of baseball).

While I pretty much agree with you in principle, I wish that some key people would more closely observe what SEC schools are currently doing by taking big equipment allowances, small guarantees (the new South Carolina deal involves only $500K per year in guarantees), and heavy royalties (14% to 15% range).

THAT is the deal to make. Plus the new NIL language that schools signing new deals this year are getting.
