Prepare yourselves fellow Canes fans

College football has always been that way. Every team, even some of the greatest teams ever, have had those 1-2 games where they struggle. That’s when you find out if you have championship mentality…can you survive the onslaught?

I want to agree with you BUT Middle Tennessee changed that mindset for me. Our jocularity with these “lesser” games has come back to get us. Being at Miami in the 90s, we so often played down to competition. I’m still a little shell shocked from all that. Time to change that narrative.
Extra credit for the use of “jocularity” on this Board.

That’s where Cristobal comes in. He has to get them up for the easier games, so they don’t get bitten in the ***. Seems like the kids enjoy playing for these coordinators. Team speed, tackling are night and day better.

Some of these teams have no shot against us even if we have a letdown game. Temple would have better odds if they kidnapped Mario and sent us another one of their head coaches

We would have had a better chance last year if someone kidnapped Mario… and sent us an OC…

The real deal is that the best teams get better every week. If you stay the same, you are really falling behind. Hopefully our Canes will continue to improve every week. Go Canes 🏈

As much as I enjoyed watching many top teams struggle yesterday, I think we should prepare ourselves for a game or two for us to do the same against lesser opponents. The parity in CF is vast and the days of dominating every game are over. That said, yesterday also encouraged me even more to believe that Miami can hang with anyone if the O and D truly are what we have seen through 3 games. Already cant wait for Saturdays game against Temple...Lets Go Canes!!!

Let down games are always a real thing. This is why Head Coaches jump at stupid questions from local beat reporters about emptying the bench for perceived "easy" upcoming games.

It's Week 3, with the top dogs working in new QBs, we may need to relax on thinking Cinderella is cutting down the nets...

NC State and Lousiville are gonna be be tricky - then we naturally have UNC, FSU, Clemson

Mario has proven time and time again in his career that he can motivate his teams to play in "big"games, there's a whole thread on it and he proved it again with us vs A&M. Idk if what our record will be vs UNC, FSU, or Clemson but we will show up in those games

then, Temple, GT, UVA, and BC should be easy wins - all 4 teams are bad. GT showed promise but last night (and them giving up a ****** td with 40 seconds left when ole miss was literally just trying to run the clock off TO RUIN MY $450 parlay solidified my stance that they suck)

You think BC is going to be easy?

Some of this happens with complacency after you have had success for a while you just expect to win so don’t focus or prepare like when you had something to prove.

I think FSU got caught up in their own press clippings being ranked in the top 5. And BC is always tough at their place regardless of their record as canes fans should know.

I think UM coming from humbler beginnings after last year have something to prove this year. They were not even expected to finish top 3 in their own conference.

I doubt they get complacent for any game and if this past Thursday night after a short week and emotional win wasn’t a sign of that I don’t know what will be.

We coming too.

... yes I do did you see the game yesterday? 18 penalties (even before yesterday they were the most penalized team in the nation)

they have nothing outside of their qb's scrambling ability. FSU totally collapsed and should have won that game handily

For reference on parity of teams and gauging our own, Miami(Ohio) beat Cincinnati 31-24 in OT. I said week 1 that Miami(Ohio) had a good team. They will contend for a MAC title.

Cincinnati beat Pitt week 2 27-21. Pitt is struggling early this year at 1-2. They play UNC this week.

Welp, many games ahead of that one but yes i saw the game yesterday with FSU. Even in wins, historically, it has not been easy for Miami up there. Obviously, I hope you are right but I honestly see nothing easy about that game up there, that time of the year.

Yes, but I don't think FSU is as good as they're hyped up to be. They're good, but #3 good? Nah.

Miami Flo was right once again.....FSU, UNC and Louisville use their back heavily in the pass game, we gotta cover that and well.
