Prediction: Nick Saban to Texas

wouldn't really affect UM. we haven't really lost anyone to bama. cooper? think that was just Shannon effing up.

I doubt he leaves too. However, I think it could actually help us if he moved to Big 12 country.

Saban makes 5.6 and Mack Brown makes 5.4.

Texas will offer him 7.5 and Bama will pay him 8.

It's nothing more than a shakedown but the guy is worth it.

They are only using Texas because Texas is the only school that can pay Saban more than Bama can.

I would tell Nick to shove it if I were Bama.

Couple of things with Saban.

One, there is always the possibility of shady sh*t going on at Bama that can get them nailed. Texas is much better and "cleaner" in how they do things than Bama. Bama is ALWAYS involved in some shady sh*t, and despite the NCAA turning a blind eye to most of it, every few years like clockwork something happens that they can no longer ignore and have to come down on them. So the idea that there could be trouble brewing is not outlandish.

Two, Texas can afford to probably pay him more. Yes initially it would be a ploy to get more money, but you never know, Texas can go HAM and offer him something totally unheard of in college sports. Its not out of the question.

Three, he has a much easier schedule at Texas, less stress, and easier recruiting environment, and can probably cruise at Texas a lot longer and will less pressure than at Bama. Despite all he's done, if he has 3 mediocre seasons at Bama, those idiots will be throwing a sh*t fit saying he's "lost it". After what Brown has done at Texas, Saban could milk that gig for a decade or more with his eyes closed.

Four, he's not going to have AJ McCarron anymore. Same as with *** losing Tebow. Saban may figure once he loses his smart "offensive general", he's going to have some rebuilding to do. Why not leave Bama on top, vs have to hope he can replace McCarron with another great QB, which is never easy, and maybe have a few years of struggling. He may feel he's done all he can at Bama and can go out like a boss.

Personally I think he stays at Bama, but I can see some scenarios where the Texas gig might look appealing to him. I would not TOTALLY rule out the possibility.

Agree. If he leaves, it won't be just for more money. If it were all about Benjamin's for him, then UT can outbid anyone.

I just don't see him doing it though.

Word is Texas is willing to possibly throw almost 10 mil a year... If bama is only offering 8 mil your telling me he leaves 2mil a year on the table cause he loves the city if Tuscaloosa that much??

u guys are nuts thinking anything is set in stone with Saban. Tuscaloosa is in the middle of nowhere and despite their success would never get Saban to where he could get with Texas. He would see it as a challenge to knock off the SEC.....and he would too i think. Texas oil money beat anything Bama could trump up. I think he will go, my two sense. Saban seems like a ego maniac and to have your agent out there meeting these dudes, seems more than a money play. He gets paid enough and he doesnt need to create stories to get a raise. They have done everything at Bama to soothe his ego....including giving him a statue before he evens leaves there.

Is there an income tax in Alabama?
Texas does not have one

Also, winning a championship at three schools would crown him greatest ever
Winning at UT is not that impossible considering resources and recruiting base

If there is any school that could pull it off, it would be UT. Biggest money in the game with the biggest egos.

Still, no reason for Saban to leave Bama.

His daughter lives in Austin, so you never know. You get to be around his age, living near your daughter and grandkids starts to look pretty good.

If Nick Saban goes to Texas, Auburn, FSU, and UGa are going to benefit the most imo but Bo Scarbrough and Ole Miss commit CJ Hampton could both be in serious play for Miami.

Saban to Texas, he would kill recruiting in TX. That wouldn't necessarily hurt us recruiting wise. What would help us with him leaving Bama IMO, would be the recruitment of N FL, LA, GA and AL.

I would tell Nick to shove it if I were Bama.

And if he called their bluff and went to UT, the AD would get fired.

There's no such thing as telling him to shove it. He's holding all the cards.

If as rumored Nick Saban goes to Texas as many people believe it will change the recruiting landscape.

The only way he would leave bama is if there is an investigation coming, IMHO

Well my buddy whos a Auburn alum and booster said something big is about to come out on Alabama and there is no way the NCAA can turn a blind eye to this one. A lot of it stems from DJ Fluker, the HA HA Clinton-Dix suspension and more.... so we'll see... Im trying to get more info from him.

FYI He has close ties to people high up @ UM and told me a month prior that something may be happening here with a booster and then BAM the story hit. So he's always been credible to me

Fyi, while the miami info was credible, never EVER EVER EVER put any stock into what an auburn fan says about bama. All rational thought goes out the window when it comes to bama. It's quite comical actually. LOL

He wouldn't leave because of an investigation...it would follow him there. Just like Haith.

Agreed, but I am not sure if Saban would allow himself to have his hands dirtied, it would be others that he probably "cannot accept" and moves on. He is doing long days and total focus on football, he is "not aware" of what is going on,
