My stance on this has changed. Here's why:
A number of true freshmen are squeezing from the bottom
This seems to be a common practice during fall camp under Golden. Only this time he's slapped a fancy phrase on it.
Freshmen getting major minutes has been out of necessity through four years. We're in a position where most of these guys could conceivably redshirt. Yet we keep hearing about Walton, Cager, St. Louis, Gauthier, Milo, Norton, McIntosh, King, Gordinier, Redwine, Johnson.
It's almost like Golden is alienating the older guys on the team because he almost never talks about them.
My theory is that he's trying to draw attention to the younger guys, thereby making it seem like we're a 'young team' that will be really good next year with a junior Brad Kaaya and all of these new guys who are squeezing from the bottom, usurping the less talented upperclassmen that he recruited here.
