I’ll go with UCF, dark horse B12 contender IMO.

Also look out for Nebraska, Rhule is notorious for big time upgrades in year 2 and there schedules a joke. Decent chance they’re 7-0 heading into Ohio State in late October.

Yes and no, my issue with preseason polls is I do agree they are used for TV and hyping up games but I cannot say they are useless. If you are ranked very high to start the season you can lose a game or two early and claw your way back. If you are at the bottom of the top 25, lose a few games early, its hard to claw back above where you were. SO yes while being ranked early puts a target on you, I think it helps if the unforeseen slip-up happens.

Case in point if we are at 19 and lost to UF, I think we drop out of the top 25, if we were ranked 9th and lost to UF, we probably drop to the 19th range. Same freaking team, same likely outcome for the season, but in one instance we are still a top 25 team.

Of course, if we do that yes irrelevant, sorry I was talking as if we were not getting in some other way. Yes win the ACC and get into the playoffs and all bets are off rankings be damned. But if we dont win the conference trying to get to that #12 spot is seemingly easier when you start the season ranked above 12 as you have more room for error.

Good to see the media is on the hype train. I think we'll be top 10 by the second week of October.

Usually happens and one highly rated top 10 team falls completely out of the rankings.

Fair enough.

No Meeeechigan is a big deal. But they also have Washington and Oregon come in to replace them.

I still think they don’t have a QB to make a run.

Yea i think bringing in chip was big because they will need to be more versatile in the run game, plus the rpo game. Him and ryan day is a good balance, i think there defense will be elite and offense will improve because mccord was terrible even as a game manager

Oregon is a huge test tho, i think those two will probably play 3 times this year, regular season, bowl game and playoffs. I think there experience will be the deciding factor

Eh, gives you context and a general idea of who's expected to have a good season for those not following returning production, coaching moves etc. No one on the planet expects the final polls to reflect preseason.
