If Ishmael has an injury where he may possibly miss considerable time Eli Roberts playing D end becomes almost a necessity rather than a nice little idea

Ishmael was looking at a redshirt season regardless. He needs to become Feeley's shadow and see us in the spring.

I dont think they would want him dropping into coverage as thats one of his biggest weaknesses
I think you never want ANY de dropping in coverage. I agree we had a few and it was really to try and trick the OL, the intent was not to have your DE running free with a guy man up, but it seemed to be a zone drop. The one play i remember distinctly was Quincy dropping into coverage and almost getting a pic on 4th down against clemson (he was offside so didnt matter) but he dropped into the flat like a cover 2 just to undercut that quick out. It worked but maybe we see less of these plays with Manny calling the D.

It’s site-wide and I’ve barely noticed your contributions, but lord we have to draw the line somewhere.
My apologies to Susan. For real For real.

She broke my heart & I need to let it go.

Had a feeling @Coach Macho was gonna like this post cause the film I watched was the Deerfield Beach game and man was Jabari invisible.

No I mean for ever. I just don't see any redeeming traits. Poor anchor and lacks physicality in the run game, hardly uses his hands, doesn't have great edge burst or skill as a rusher. He's just tall and looks the part running smoothly in open space. Maybe he can develop into a guy who can drop into coverage? idk. Staff loves these tall, high-hipped, linear guys who at best develop into cleanup rushers.

Hopefully some good DEs wind up in the portal again!
I thought they should have took Patrick Payton last year instead. That ones going to bite us for years as he ended up at FSU

Hey ignoramus, obviously you miss the whole point. Diaz allowed our Edge rushers to drop in coverage last year. Who says it will not this year?
True, but what you ask your DE to do when they drop in coverage is completely different than what you ask a LB to do in coverage. Usually the DE just drops to the flats or picks up the RB and takes away short outlet throws when you’re disguising a blitz package ie. Roche on the 4th down play on the first drive of the Clemson game. You’re not really going to ask him to man up on a TE or WR, or have them covering too much space.

Don Bailey Jr. Former center and current radio announcer with Zagaki (and carpet salesman).
Son and namesake of the man whose sprawled-out likeness graced the southbound lanes of I-95 directly south of the Golden Glades Interchange for decades. Don't ever be surprised if you're laid on your side chillin' with your head held in your hand's palm, and someone from Dade says "who the fucc you think you are, Don Bailey?!?!"
