Practice

Imagine running our #1 O last year against our #1 and thinking we would ever stop that O... Our ****** defense couldn't even figure out Saturdays while going up against one of the top Os in the country ... that is how inept we were last year. And it was predictable...
Well the only reason they ever had a prayer is because you get used to going against the same guys and the same offense and you know the tendencies. But yeah I agree. Had to be comical to watch. Aside from ball state and famu I can’t imagine we played a worse defense than our own

Mario ain’t letting anyone see his secrets as he works on kneeling and calling time outs…😜

Fall PractiSe is fun because it means the season is near, but the reports and interviews are just garbage.

Most of the media gets very little access and the few that get to see more aren't allowed to say anything of importance. The interview answers are all scripted BS.
The “Following the team” experience is the worst it has ever been under Mario.

Practice reports are pretty much useless at this point, I’ve said this numerous times that our practices don’t flesh out our weaknesses. Example - Miami’s offenses more than likely doesn’t run any motion plays to prepare the defense in practice to be better prepared come game day.

The fact that the Staph has confidence in Emery based on practice tells you that replicating game day experience doesn’t do enough to prepare the most important position on the team for intense stadium atmospheres
I'm glad you brought this up because it has been a huge weakness in the way this team has been run. However I think that most of that took place on the defensive side of the ball. Everything we practiced during the week never prepared the defense for what they would face during the real games. The things we would focus on in practice never translated to Saturday and that was all on Guidry. He turned out to be one of the most incompetent DCs I've seen at Miami. The only thing that saved him in 2023 was Rueben Bain's incredible freshman campaign and NFL level safety play. Everyone criticized Mario for Georgia Tech in 2023 and with good reason. However Tech still had to drive the field for a TD with 26 seconds on the clock on their own 25 yards line. After Kings first down pass fell incomplete GT had 22 seconds to go 75 yards and no timeouts and A$$Hat Guidry actually let them do it with 1 second to spare. We'll see how good Corey Hetherman is but I'm comfortable saying that going to him from Guidry is taking a quantum leap forward.
