Its the reason sorry *** bauman got so many snaps last year, he played TE better than the rest of the room.

Dawson mentioned in his pre camp interview the importance of being able to play the same formations with different personnels. Everyone was focused on him saying we could go 4 wide with mali at rb but his point was that could be 10 personnel or empty at the same time because mali can be a wr and rb. Just like in 2024 11p can be 10p with arroyo at the same time because arroyo can be a te and wr. Could be something there with lofton where our 11p = 22p

Briggs is not a wide receiver and people need to start getting that thought out of their head. He is a true tight end, but he’s just more athletic than any other tight end you’ve seen in a long time.

All we have to go off is his hs tape and he played wr. Hopefully he turns into a tight end

High school tape is like mentioning recruiting rankings, it doesn’t mean anything now! He is a tight end and he’s only playing tight end for us and he’s playing the position really well. The past is the past man. Smh

You put the best 5 out there, if that best 5 is Cantwell at guard for a year then so be it. There are plenty of guys who spent their first season at G before kicking outside next year.

I don’t think you understand what I’m saying, watching someone’s high school film once they’re not in high school anymore has no bearing on what they’re putting on film in practice right now because it’s the past. Again it’s like saying well he was a five star, so he must be kicking butt in practice now, and we all know that’s baloney. How your high school used you or what rank you were in the recruiting rankings has no bearing on what you’re doing on Greentree right now. And I can tell you, Briggs, is playing tight end at a high level right now on green tree.

I understand that. I just don't think that the staff will put him at Guard for a year. Mostly because I believe that Cantwell gives us the best ROI at Tackle. Now I do think it is possible for Cantwell to be at Guard for a few games while the staff figures things out. Ultimately though I believe that Cantwell has been at Guard during the first week of Fall Camp as part of coach Mirabal's mandatory cross training of everyone on the OL but your point is taken and anything is possible.

I don’t think you understand what I’m saying, watching someone’s high school film once they’re not in high school anymore has no bearing on what they’re putting on film in practice right now because it’s the past. So is he blocking at a high level? We know he is athletic and a good receiver. TE ain’t just about catching passes

If you listen to his interview, he freely admits that’s what his game needed, and he credits our new tight end coach for bringing that part of his game out for him. Is he a great blocker yet, no but I think he’ll get there because he’s a worker, there’s no two ways about that..

Ok so he is still a receiver learning the TE position and it’s nothing wrong with that

You think im talking about what position he’s listed at and playing...Im talking about everything the tight end position entails. I referred to his hs tape because it shows him being ahead at the wr side of te but thats 50% of the position..I don’t need you to explain how high school relates to now

Agree, but Briggs has some pretty good muscle building genetics based on the weight he’s already put on. He’s gonna play a lot this year and we need him.
