Knighton, Scaife, Flagg, Keontra, Pope, J Clark at OG/C, Malik Curtis… one or two glue guys on a roster is one thing. But you don’t build championships around these guys.

I liked Knighton. Keontra would have been a **** of a Safety was stupid putting him at backer! Mailk Curtis should have been playing on offence would have been a weapon! Flagg should have never been here an out of all the 5 star receivers we ended up with Pope lmao smfh

For the folks that were here during the seasons leading up to the 'chips of 01/02, was the sentiment of the board and team practice hype similar?

If by here you mean CIS no one was here as I believe the site was founded in 2011. There may have been other boards around then but I wasn’t on any of them. I remember reading stories in the Herald on how the guys would work out in the off season or how the OL would go out to eat all together once a week to build camaraderie and I was hype as **** sitting on the porcelain throne.

Anyone could have liked any one of those dudes. But all of them at the same time when they were all undersized…. I forgot to mention Seymore … plus a whole slate full of big slow guys I didn’t even bother to name? … our roster was just too full of edge takes without NFL traits. Barring crazy heroics of Deriq King (also not prototypical but a true baller like X) and a couple highly productive transfers like Phillips and Rambo, the outcome was inevitable.

He is the reason I am a little more bullish than some others on our secondary this year. Played well for a good Marshall Defense and the familiarity with the system is huge. Him and Porter holding down the outside makes me a bit less worried about our CB issues.

I expect Damari Brown to make a huge jump this season.

It was grassy with the infamous WEZ back then...
We lived through some happening times..

Butch and the revival, leaving Mike Trained geese and the Big Least, Coker days, Randy, Shapiro... ugh... And of course Al Folden's pillars and cloud, co starring D'No and the no man's D...
Have survival guilt and PTSD combined, living through all that.

ah ok, thanks for the info, canes and porcelain excitement lol. I was still in school; I don't recall much hype on campus among students back then. I'm pretty hype this go around, eternal optimist but feeling good about the squad, the seem tight.
