Potential WR coaches if Dugans does leave?

Bryan McClendon would be my choice, but Muschamp just made him the full time OC & gave him control of play-calling, so I doubt he would be interested in coming here.

Also could see us bumping up Cooney, which would be a great move in local Dade recruiting.

No more recruiters.

The OP asked a serious question and some of you guys throw out your favorite past UM receiver regardless whether they ever coached a down. To me Lamar Thomas should be looked at . He threw his hat in the ring twice before and was told he needed a resume. He did just that and now is an experienced college coach. I have no idea of how he is perceived as a coach. Kevin Beard was liked by this board when he was here but Richt liked Dugans better. Certainly he has a resume.

Some of you guys are f'n clueless. Lamar is a TRAITOR. He's negative recruited against Miami numerous times and deserves to be sent to the pit of misery.

I’d take Larry Scott back here but honestly he might end up on Taggart's staff too.

The correct answer is Ron Dugans.

This program needs to pay to keep its good assistant coaches if it plans on returning to glory.

It'd be nice to get a guy who could really contribute to our offensive scheme. Maybe a guy who comes from a legit spread O.

First, Dugans isn't leaving.

Second, Troy Walters was a Broyles finalist as an OC, why would he take a step down to position coach when he can get a coordinator position somewhere?

Third, Why the **** do people always want ex players to come back as coaches? Just because you used to play doesn't mean you can coach or recruit. Two totally different skill sets.

If Dugans were to leave and you want Walters, here is what you can do. You bring him in and make him co-OC with Brown. Walters would be the passing game coordinator as well as being the wr position coach (like he was at UCF) and Brown would be the rb coach and running game coordinator. Bringing Walters in would bring in different ideas and play calls that Richt could add to the play sheet for next year when Perry, Weldon or Williams are running the offense.

Yikes.

Scott, Dugans, Leavitt? Taggart would be building a monster staff. Let's hope that doesn't happen.

What your saying makes sense but then you'd still have to pay Walters coordinator money. I'd rather just give Dugans a raise if need be.

Thomas LOVES Miami.

Then why did he negative recruit against us for Louisville? Guy is a POS.

I fully agree with you on that, no questions asked. But Walters only made 350k last year at UCF and with the 10th coach rule coming in soon, we will be getting more money from the school for our assistants. Richt could make it work. But once again, I would rather keep Dugans. He has done wonders with our WR room in the 2 years he has been here.
