Honestly, I like him a lot. Looks like a talented kid with multiple years to play. I’m truly just baffled at the numbers aspect here. You have 3 pretty good guys with 2 years minimum left, some young freshmen and a veteran in Brantley who will play plenty. You have 3 guys committed for the next class and still looking for more apparently. I mean I’m not mad at the approach. Throw numbers and may the best man win. It’s just funny that it look last years debacle for us to begin doing this.

At some point you gotta stop spending on CB and spend more on literally any other position lol

Look if we bring in a CB, idk how Fitzgerald doesn't start out as a WR or something man. I mean I guess also Jadais Richards only here cause of injury, Im surprised Markeith never left, and we need depth safeties regardless... So I haven't been questioning why we are trying to invest in multiple Safeties. Plus DB just in general seems by far the most loaded position in spring portal so may as well load up I guess. The best will survive and the worst will end up leaving....

I've been annoyed by all the people saying "just move [insert CB] to Safety" but the way we're still targeting CBs makes me think that we are actually moving someone to Safety. Not sure why we wouldn't have used spring practice to help whoever that is make the transition though.

It would be nice to land two safeties (one starter, one depth). Just have Poyser, Williams, Day and Taylor in that room right now.

Clearly the staff thinks we need a nickel.

But then does that mean we can trust that they like where we sit with DT and LB? Seems like they just wanted rotational pieces there as opposed to WR and S/Nickle where they are actively shopping

They're still trying to add pieces at DT & LB too.

There's just a scarcity of quality players at those spots in the Spring Portal. Those are Winter Portal positions.

Not to mention, they just added a LB a couple of days ago from NC ST.

I think somehow they'll find a grad transfer DT to rotate with our top 3.

LB is interesting. I would have guessed that we would have seen departures, but Heatherman must like the room enough to keep everyone around. With DT, it seems like the whiffed on the Florida kid. I would be shocked if we didn’t pick up anywhere there
