This. In the portal era, unless there are big rule changes, we can snag an experienced top QB every year if we want to.
The couple people I know in the building say that Cole is the real deal and will play early. They say the DL is the strength of the team, and can go 3-deep if they're all healthy.
Me excited.
Now your talking old school baby, the stork ! Hendricks was legendary in my time around old Miami bars. Stork revolutionized the hybrid stand up rusher, linebacker…dude played the game with absolute reckless abandon.Cole=Ted Hendricks
Do not consume edibles from a feed bag.I deleted it, so I’ll paraphrase:
*** If today is any indication, the offense will feature A LOT of counters. Dalvin Williams took the second play of the third drive to the house off the right side with the entire line moving to the left
*** Cam Ward is as advertised. With his Miami Subs NIL deal he has a billboard up on 95 and the picture looks exactly like him. WOW moment
*** Francis Mauinoah will be the better of the brothers this season, momma Mauinoah will probably buy him a PS5 instead of Francisco or Frederick
*** little thing here, but coach O was not available for comment after the scrimmage. He was not in south Florida at all.
*** hold onto your butts but Guidry had Arroyo lined up as strong side LB for a few series. A reliable source said Guidry felt “a body like David Njoku” could be a game changer alongside Kiko and Wes
#11 with extra olive oil and vinegar and pickles toasted please. Uh, yeah jalapeño chips and some M&Ms or a cookie. Just a Coke. Diet Coke. If they don’t then water I guess or go the a gas station thank you love you text me when you’re close
*** Meesh Powell is not how you spell it
*** Sam Brown was electric, he’s already built a solid connection with Miami quarterback Cam Ward. I’ve heard the two are roommates, which is not something a Miami QB and receiver have ever done before
*** several people I spoke with said they expect the offense to be multiple, but the D to be singular. When I asked what this meant, the people each said think if the Borg the Boz had a baby. I asked if this “baby “ was after a passion-fired one night stand where the Borg got knocked up but kept the baby? or was it the product of a long-distance, intergalactic romance, perhaps even a love triangle with a Klingon? I thought it would be interesting the kind of defense that would come from if the Borg began to view itself as a collection of individuals instead of “singular” cosmic harem, what does consent look like in that environment. What are the ethics ramummifications if the Boz would got all of them preggo at once, that sort of thing. Weird stuff like that is what I think about sometimes. I was not permitted to ask further questions after this.
** Mark Fletcher was limited
Sooooo.... what happened that night what u talking boutNobody passed Kelley up . **** I pray we bring him back. Just a really bad night and thats all that needs to be said.
He’s not coming back lol 0 chance Mario would do that I’m sure. Hope he does well at UCF praying for a 5 sack game against UF.Nobody passed Kelley up . **** I pray we bring him back. Just a really bad night and thats all that needs to be said.
I think he’s stated he took a dna test and wasn’t fully white , which would eliminate him.
Big, if true.
bro just send me a message . you don't think a 5 star player that we recruited might not get a second chance. You got a lot of post but that dont mean chit. He’s not coming back lol 0 chance Mario would do that I’m sure. Hope he does well at UCF praying for a 5 sack game against UF.
Fans need to understand that Poff is not a P4 QB. He’s not a P4 caliber starting QB and not even a viable P4 backup QB. Simple as that. The Miami staff already knows this.
Way too many Miami fans think we’re just going to pull a starting quarterback from the portal every year. Look at the other portal QBs who were available besides Cam Ward. Dillon Gabriel was the only other sure thing starter. The rest of the portal was littered with three types: guys who had previous success but for whatever reason, moved on like DJ Ukelele, Will Rogers and Tyler Van Dyke (two of them are in a battle for the starting job at their new school). Former high level recruits that didn’t make the cut at their original school. I don’t mind taking a flyer on a former 5 star but I’m not just assuming he’s going to come in and be a day one starter. Or small school guys who are trying to make the jump like Poffenbarger. That's not exactly what I meant to say, though. I believe we should always be looking at the portal to upgrade QB, especially for 2025 when we cannot be sure either Emory or Poff will be good enough to lead a playoff team. But I also believe we cannot rely on the portal because ELITE QBs like Ward are very rare, and we may not get one.
Let's say there are 2-4 Top 10 QBs who hit the portal. Who is to say we get one of them? Who is to say the guys we target doesn't ultimately decide to go pro instead like Cam did and Taulia was forced to do? Who is to say that even if we do get one of them, he doesn't get injured during camp or the season?
My point? Yes, we must go portalling. But we ALSO desperately need to work on developing one of Poff or Emory into someone who pan be ready to step into a starting role.
You can snag an experienced QB every year (see FSU), but will they be a top, Cam Ward-like QB. That’s a tall order.This. In the portal era, unless there are big rule changes, we can snag an experienced top QB every year if we want to.
Why is he here ? No need to waste scholarship simple as that…Fans need to understand that Poff is not a P4 QB. He’s not a P4 caliber starting QB and not even a viable P4 backup QB. Simple as that. The Miami staff already knows this.
So long as Nickel stays the course, all of this talk will be Mute in two years. He is a Dude.Way too many Miami fans think we’re just going to pull a starting quarterback from the portal every year. I don’t think people realize how lucky we were to get Ward. There was literally two starting caliber quarterbacks in the portal and we got one of them. I don’t want to have to do this every year.
DTP, you give our fans zero credit. I don't know what you are talking about but I think EVERY FAN realizes the talent of Cam Ward!Way too many Miami fans think we’re just going to pull a starting quarterback from the portal every year. At the time Poff signed, Cam was more likely to be in the draft than a Miami Hurricane. Poff was very successful at his last school and Emory is by no means plug and play. At the very least he was needed to push Emory. At most beats Emory out and is the most capable backup. He was definitely worth the Scholarship when he signed and still worth one today. Why is he here ? No need to waste scholarship simple as that…

I was thinking something other than I wrote. I was thinking his second year. Not in two years from now. My bad.You think Nickel will come into Miami ready to start as a true freshman, not even a redshirt? I think that's hopeful but shouldn't be counted on. And I am a huge Luke Nickel fan. Was when he was an unheralded 3 star the moment I saw his highlights and read the background.
