I like Emory as a prospect and all but vs. Clemson & FSU he had as many high school JV throws as he did big boy college football throws. It was not Emery who led the team to victory against Clemson, it was the defense and a couple big plays. Other than that we were shut down completely.

Then I remember reading somewhere that Cole McConathy had passed both of them up. As high as I was on McConathy, I was still skeptical. Perhaps that was unwarranted concern on my part.

A DE with a motor is like the lunatic at the gym who presses full court all game lol. They never let you get a breath or relax , it gets aggravating and eventually somebody punches him in the mouth lol. That motor puts constant pressure on the OL all game which leads to mental errors or penalties. It’s mentally and physically taxing.

I just couldnt bring myself to typing it up like you did being an offensive tackle but ......THIS.

I mean i would block dude for 4-5 seconds and dude would still be in pursuit angle chasing sh*t down twenty yards down the field.

The big 6'5 260 des i had no issues.

Here's the thing. How likely is it for us to find another Cam Ward in the portal? And let's face it, Cam probably flipped a coin between going pro and playing for Miami. That was the luckiest day in Mario Cristobal's career.

While I agree with you 100% that neither Poff nor Emory will replace Ward next season, I also think the staff needs to be prepared to run with one of them in case they don't strike lightening twice. So whoever wins the backup role has to be developed. If it's Emory, redshirting him is a luxury we just don't have. you roll him out in every game possible.

This. In the portal era, unless there are big rule changes, we can snag an experienced top QB every year if we want to.

Emory did what he was asked to do! He has a good upside and a year behind Cam will be good for him!
