Quite simple. Miami cannot win Championship football games with a below average QB play, average O line and average defense(specifically secondary) and poor special teams

Good news is we should improve in each area in the above mentioned...

We can blame staff, blame refs(trash this year) but until we fix the holes we have we won't compete no matter who's coaching.

AT least we won't have to worry about FSU and UF the next couple years. Sad but true

better coaching will go along way also. Getting better players is one half of the equation. Next we will have to get better coaches to coach them up. We shall see next season how it unfolds

There is a lot of truth in that.

It stanks to end on a 3-game losing streak. But that's what happens when you arrive ahead of schedule and play in the ACC title game and a big boy bowl game. You have to play better teams than you would have if you had gone 8-4 in the regular season.

Agreed we need to get better. Wisconsin is #1 in the country in total defense. With Rosier as the starter and our best play makers out, it's a miracle we scored as much as we did.

would like to know how special teams will get better?.

Kick off return.

Punting this season was a nightmare until Feagles showed his *** tonight. Funny how top gun then disappears with two missed FG.

Special teams have been pathetic for the last 10 years at Miami

It's not really the only thing that has been pathetic the last 10 years. We've had 3 terrible head coaches that made the program regress substantially the last 15 years prior to Richt arriving. Couple that with an administration that never put football as a priority and its a recipe for disaster. That's a pretty big hole to dig from unfortunately. We did well with what we had this year and most certainly overachieved, but it will probably take a lot longer than anticipated to get back to a championship caliber program. This includes recruiting well, but also having the right staff in place. Based on what I've seen this year, I think there should be some adjustments made with the coaching staff on both sides of the ball.
