A lot of guys coming out and saying the remain solid because they committed to the school and not Golden. Some of the big ones are Byrd, Homer, Bruce (next coach needs to keep KB), Jack Allison retweeted Bruce in that regard. Only 1 decommit so far, I think it looks like Uche is going to go next. I was expecting 3-5 based off the coaching change, looks like we could escape with the 3 or fewer. Also, I would expect the new coach to be able to come in and save who he wants out of this class but may opt to let a few guys walk on his own evaluations. For example, he may feel he can let Pulley walk and pick up a kid in Sfla with a similar skill set.
As far as kids that haven't committed but we have been after.. I honestly think we are better off for some of these names. Adrian Killins already throwing Al under the bus saying "kids might actually commit to Miami now". Killins is one I would like to have, he is so fast and versatile, a true offensive weapon. Pat Bethel, I was truly worried this guy wasn't going to end up at UM, because of Golden. I haven't seen or heard of anyone mentioning his reaction after the firing. I think we fare better off towards him now and that would be huge. He can be the replacement to Uche. Also, I'm excited to see Jamel Cook's reaction to this and what the new coach can do towards him.
Overall, I think we are going to come out fine. Just a feeling that I have, we end up better off in the 2015 class with a new coach like Florida did last year. I think we keep the majority of the current class, sign a few guys that were on the fence, and potentially flip a few like Cook.
All of this is assuming we actually make a decent hire. No Mike Shula or something like that. Most coaches coming up on these hot lists could have this type of impact on our class. Time will tell.
