Fully healthy: (Not gonna include OJ because I don't think he'll play this year)

agree with op that there are no perfect teams in CFB now. all the top teams turn in questionable stretches and halves and all have warts.

it will come down to which staff can coach up what they got best amongst the top teams to play top level ball in the home stretch,
 
The reference to chasing awards & over reliance on Toney couldn’t be more on the mark. As stated, he can’t help but get nicked up & the offense shuts down when he’s on the sidelines. Still the focal point of offense, but spread the ball around & use him to get others open.

Maybe the inexperienced guys not ready, have any other older guys available that we recruited? We have multiple classes of guys, where are they?

They have mass tho the other 2 don’t have that. Mass kicks ***, what’s out there has to be fixed and the only way to truly fix it is with bigger bodies. Let cantwell figure it out next to McCoy helping him. And let cogdon figure it out with SO helping him out. There will be growing pain but it can’t be worse the. What we’re seeing.

Use Thornton as a rotational Nickel on run support & as an extra Blitzer on 3rd & distance, but do not let him cover.

If XL or Ja'Boree don't get healthy in time,


Play Portis at Nickel & keep Fitzy at LCB.

But as long as Thornton & Damari are out there, we have 2 bright red flags that pop out on film, that will make OC's salivate on a weekly basis.

Rotating LB's is difficult on a play by play basis, especially if the opposing Offense is going uptempo no huddle, but try to do it by series.

Start off 1st series with the primary starters & then rotate between possessions with the backups with guys like Bonner, Marcelin, Pruitt etc..

You want the faster LB's in on passing downs & the Old vets in on run downs. Easier said than done though, because teams will recognize personnel on certain play calls & purposely go no huddle to catch them off guard.

Poor tackling is effort & ability.

Fatigue only plays a factor as it pertains to the "when", during a game. If you're seeing missed tackles late in games, then yeah fatigue is apart of it. But missed tackles in general have to do with play recognition, angles & beating your man to the spot/ball.

When you know what the play is going to be you can get a head start on the Offense & beat your matchup to the ball. Once you meet at the point of attack, use the Eagle & Boa concept.

Arms wide Eagle to enclose the ball carrier/WR/QB & then once you make contact with the runner, Boa to wrap him up.

I don't think Toure and Smith should ever be allowed on the field at the same time - espeically so when we are playing a more pass oriented or up-tempo offense.

Staff refuses to just force feed young guys (at multiple positions) to develop them... Pruitt and Wiley basically didn't even play, meanwhile Toure and Smith have been getting cooked in coverage for 2 years here....
