Post Game Recap: Florida

I thought so but wasn't sure. He kind of got hesitant in the hole (pause) and didn't anticipate Johnson going outside.

Also I haven't seen a DE nearly chase down a RB like that since maybe Jaelaen Phillips 🤔
wes can't give up his outside shoulder/contain or wes has to spill that play back inside/has to take that block further upfield ... he did neither

Awesome recap.

I just logged a 10-2 prediction in the season prediction thread. But let's be honest. If we just switched out one guy from last year's team -- Cam for TVD -- we easily go 10-2 last year, probably run the table. Sky is the limit this season.

Great writeup as always. This Miami team felt different. Never felt threatened at all. Took care of business as they were supposed to. Got a professional leading us at QB, aware that it’s his money year. Unlike the golfer we had last year. And to think that 5 years ago we rolled out a lispy-corched drug addict QB against UiF.

Overall team came out much more prepared and disciplined. Kudos to the coaching staff.

Fantastic stuff! Always enjoy reading your thoughts and breakdowns. Beating a rival is always sweet but skull ******* them is always best!

Excellent analysis as always, @Menmon!

This is the most focused and disciplined game that I’ve seen a Canes team play in years. That was an absolute ***-whooping, and they’re fortunate that Mario called off the dogs, if not, we could’ve easily put up a 50 burger on them.

It’s definitely great to see Dawson keeping the pedal on the gas and not letting up. If we keep on playing this aggressive and focused for the rest of the season, we’re gonna be a major problem for the rest of CFB.

Offense:

Cam Ward - 26/35 385yds 3TD's & 1INT, 3car 33yds
Damien Martinez - 15car 65yds
Mark Fletcher - 7car 23yds 2TD's
Xavier Restrepo - 7rec 112yds 1TD
Elijah Arroyo - 4rec 89yds
Isaiah Horton - 4rec 70yds
Samuel Brown - 3rec 19yds
Jacolby George - 2rec 25yds 1TD
Cam McCormick - 1rec 9yds 1TD
Elija Lofton - 2rec 38yds

Defense:

Jaden Harris - 7tks 1TFL 1INT 1PD & 0.5sacks
Francisco Mauigoa - 6tks 1PD 1sack & 1.5TFL's
Jadais Richard - 5tks
Wesley Bissainthe - 4tks 1TFL
Tyler Baron - 3tks 2TFL's & 1sack
Elijah Alston - 3tks 1.5TFL 1PD & 0.5sacks
Mishael Powell - 2tks & 1INT
Ahmad Moten - 2tks 0.5TFL's
Markeith Williams - 2tks 1PD
Good write up per usual. You should give 2-3 players of the game for you. Can't be giving out players of the game to Cam unless he had a truly elite performance though, otherwise it'd get pretty boring lol.

For me, I'd say:

Offense - Elijah Arroyo

Arroyo was a difference maker on multiple drives for us. Set us up to be in position to get TDs. He was reliable, and it looked like all his yards were easy, and he eats up the middle of the field. Restrepo was what we should all expect which is great, but I think Arroyo deserves the nod after last season and this performance. Of course the Oline gave Cam all day in protection for the most part, and Cam will certainly have to get more used to just being able to sit in the pocket longer, but not sure we had any standout performances - don't think UF had any elite guys that were neutralized or anything. As for RBs, I think Fletchers performance was ok. Martinez looked impressive, but just didn't get enough work to given him the nod for Player of Game, but he's going to be incredibly productive for us. Only 2 questions I need answered after this game - 1. Is Sam Brown going to step up from this imo lazy performance, and 2. is our Oline going to step up in Run Blocking.

Defense - Jaden Harris and Tyler Baron

Tyler Baron was pretty dominant against UFs OTs, especially towards the middle and kinda ending UFs hopes. Without Bain, and our Dline stepped up barely missing a beat. But Baron was the top performer of a top performing group. Jaden Harris was exactly what we all knew we needed him to be - someone reliable in the pass game, and he was cleaning up a lot tackling too, which I saw as a question in his game given he was transitioning from corner. But dude clearly looks athletic as **** out there (especially when he was jumping around after plays), and almost had 2 picks on the day (actually good for us yardage wise that he dropped the first one). Like I said a while ago, if we can limit the mistakes out of our safeties I don't see any way this DB group doesn't take a massive step forward. A game like this makes me much more confident going forward, because I already trusted Meesh. This was a big performance out of Harris to me. Lets hope he can build off it. Our CBs didn't get challenged basically at all, so still a lot left to see from them. But I really only have questions if we are going against big play deep threats there. Overall I think our Defense was excellent. Honestly I think our D outperformed our Offense - aside from 1 70 yard run they allowed. Impressive all around O/D though.

Jaden. Wes didn’t make the best of plays, but he had two OL in his face. Jaden literally took himself out of the lane and thus the play. He was great otherwise though.
Unfortunate timing on the defensive play call though. Just happens. Kiko and Alston were taken out due to the play call basically, and it really put Wes and Jaden on an island with like 3 OLineman and the RB...

Yes!

Loved the aggression from Dawson's Creek. Up by 4 scores in the 4th quarter & STILL kept throwing the ball & let the starters finish out the game.

I'm full believer in demoralizing your rivals.

Obviously, you never wanna risk injury by leaving in starters too late, but when it's on occasions like a Gator or Nole beat down, fck it! Leave'em in & run up the score as high as possible.

Crush the Gator ALWAYS!!!

Facts! As Jimmy Johnson so famously stated, “if you don’t want a team to run up the score, stop them.”
