Post game reaction…

We're so screwed. If he really thinks Gattis is great we might as well just pack it in for the next 9 years.
I don’t think Mario is blind, I believe Gattis is as good as gone. He’s just not throwing him under the bus. This is a results oriented business and Gattis results speak for them selves.
I am ****ed Mario hires him in the first place though. He was never a good fit here.

When I see tweets like this, I like to think that Mario is just building Gattis up so he (Gattis) can find another program to run into the ground. Kind of like selling an underperforming employee in a reference letter.
Stop hurting yourself friend.

I'm hoping you're right sir. Part of me says so but part of me fears that Mario may want to be stubborn and continue to run this offense out of some feeling of wanting to run a certain style of play.

Right. You're giving a guy who isn't too smart too much credit.

Gattis, on his own will never be an OC'er at this level when he's canned. Football though is a good old boy network and you're hiring is largely based on your personal relationship. Guys who don't deserve it are hired all the time.

His body of work here in comparison to the precious staff, it's an indictment. Nobody with any football sense hires him away.
I agree, and unfortunately UM will be on the hook for another 2+ million because of Mario’s terrible hire. This is worse than the Enos disaster.

Then he's doing it the wrong way.

This is business, not some feel good **** where everyone gets a trophy at the end.

You fire his *** now. It doesn't have to be mean, he's getting paid to leave. You simply say the results speak for themselves and it's time to part ways. You don't have to say anymore.

Instead, he'll keep him however long or maybe Mario is truly dumb and we keep him another year. The players have their own issues and problems, but we're doing absolutely nothing to build them up or make them believe it's going to get better. They might be coaching them, but guarantee they aren't listening or improving. Nothing is being accomplished by keeping him at this point. It's affecting both sides of the ball.

Want to have a bad culture, keeping someone this ineffective around is how you create a toxic environment.

Mario did not face this situation at Oregon. Prior to his leaving for Miami, his OCs and one DC took HC promotions. He might have fired Jim Levitt as DC/LB coach, not sure. Leavitt‘s next gig was an analyst position at FSU.

We’re justified in our concern after Golden wouldn’t fire his friend and college teammate, Donuts, as DC. And Richt’s nepotism with his son.

Gattis isn’t a friend, teammate, or relative of Mario’s. They knew each other one season on Saban’s staff at Bama.

We’ll see.

We will show up for the big games like always but gotta win to get people to show up for the little teams
Lmao.. the big games, really? Which big game is that ? 3-6 Texas A&M, mighty va tech, or tough Virginia , sensational Louisville or gritty Georgia tech ? So many big games… sorry Clemson ..

So dumb and cliche to say.

I wonder how many people in the stands make 8 million a year. It costs whatever to go to the games and for likely a lot of people, games are their yearly vacation, fun money or whatever you want to call it.

You pay me 500k a year I'll sit in that stadium and not give a **** what the score is. **** is so cliche get f'ing real Mario or just shut up. 8 mil, forget about it.

Fire him now, with three games left? Okay. Promote Ponce to interim OC and who coaches WRs? Probably doesn’t matter as the scheme isn’t suddenly going to change for three games. Promote a GA. All for it. Won‘t help but wouldn’t hurt.

And besides, CIS would meltdown if the offense showed even a hint of a spark to make us think Mario would make the promotions effective for 2023.

Fire Gattis the day after the home loss to Pittsburgh.

Go from there.

I agree. I would like to see him gone now. Nobody is hiring him away, if we tried to push him out.
I also agree, if Gattia back next year, then Mario is insane and we might as well tune out from UM football for the next ten years.
What a disaster this season has been.
