Mario looks defeated and like he lost 10 years of life. Sad to see his look in the postgame.
Tough ****. Fix it.

I think you’re being harsh about the lying part. Did he f*ck up his coordinator hires? Oh yeah, no one should be denying that. Gattis was a monumental failure, worse than Enos.you sure? we gave a 10 year deal to a miami guy w no other interviews conducted. sounds like the same decisions as the previous adults.
the same coach that is now hired lied to everyone when he said he'd run a system that fits the talent and not forcing his style down their throats.
I guess that what happens when someone interjects themselves into a conversation and starts talking about insults and how avatars are sacred. Plus, pointing out your hypocrisy is quite satisfying…I love that you fell into this trap. Mr. "just stick to football" hasn't talked football in three pages. Funny how quickly that mindset changed.

But it wasn’t Mario that promised speed in space - that’s all Gattis. He got duped just the like rest of us. Doesn’t help that half the roster quit midseason.
Good thing is he has a chance here to completely wipe the slate clean with a proper hire. If he goes another ground and pound bro style OC, that’ll be all I need to see to know that we’re f^cked. But if he lets his OC do his thing and goes out and gets a Dan Mullen or Herman or someone with sustained success calling plays and experience leading talented/potent offenses, then conversely we’ll know he’s willing to put pride aside for the sake of this program.
You don’t have to worry about stacking talent under Mario because this class is already a shock given how ah!t we look on the field. Hopefully he learned from this year, and we’ll find out very soon enough.
I think that was a miscalculated error on his part. Ponce was brought in before the OC, and so was Field. Ponce won’t be coming back, and there’s rumors Field might be asked to serve in an off-field role like he did at Oregon in the event that the new OC wants all his guys.I agree about the talent part and I agree that he has a clean slate. the question is will Mario land the better OCs given his offensive reputation? well see.
also, wait and see on Mario scaling back control esp when it was rumored that he wouldn't allow candle to bring his guys in
field was retained but we know he wasn't going anywhere. id keep field somewhere in the program as hes a recruiter.I think that was a miscalculated error on his part. We should have known the lack of continuity amongst staff members would be an issue. We looked at names and salaries instead of cohesion and familiarity. By firing Ponce, that shows me
1. He’s willing to fire his friends
2. He’s willing to admit mistakes immediately
Now like you said - whether he revamps his offensive approach and goes with someone like Candle (or at least a faster offense that utilizes tempo and creative routes/playcalling), that part is still up in the air. Only Mario knows who he wants to hire, but I’d lean on the side that he’s ready to give the new OC total control.
dude got paid 8 million, no tears for himTough ****. Fix it.
No you’re not.
He was taking pictures with the Pitt guys that were running their mouth all game.
Another fake tough guy
Why does it matter if they are transfers or not? The team had enough talent to win 9-10 games.Name our most talented players that aren't transfers...
…I agreeuh oh ....
@Zbrod95 in 3 ... 2... 1....

and by the way, X is not a fake tough guy. he's a real one.
he and young are the best players in the WR room, and it's not even close.
Scoring more points is more fun than winning the game? Sell crazy someplace else.
Saban hires new coordinators and staff almost every year, but the recruiting is in place at Alabama and the volume of talent overcomes 'issues of continuity among staff'. I think the 'staff meshing' is a bit oversold but we don't have the wealth of talent and culture in place to overcome stuff like that.I think that was a miscalculated error on his part. Ponce was brought in before the OC, and so was Field. I'm not suggesting that Gattis be retained or fired. I'm just pointing out the lack of continuity in the way in which Mario hired his coaches. You cannot wait on Gattis. Every program is going to negative recruit that guy.
