Post Game Quotes 11/26

I thought it was weird that right after the game ended ACCN was doing post game interviews with the Pitt WR and behind him Restrepo, J Williams and a few others were posing for pics with Pitt players..... I mean you just got your ish kicked in ... again... at home on senior night and your posing for post game pics with the opposing team..... Great Look....

Maybe I'm making too much of it but it looked odd to see that.... It's like no one was ****ed...
This aint it. Please tell me you somehow think J Williams didn’t lay it on the line during the game. Every game pro abd college has this moment.

He didn't lay it on the line this game and basically hasn't all year.... This has been well talked about all season...

I’m with you. I’d like to hear your overall opinion of this season.
I consider it the worst season of my lifetime despite having relatively moderate expectations of a single digit season. I think there’s less ‘hope’ than ever before because now we can’t even use the ‘we’re broke and don’t spend money’ excuse for our outcomes.

Instead, our HC makes about the same or more than the coach of the Miami Dolphins. Our OC makes around the same as many NFL OCs. We have a random Miami guy acting like Santa Claus and legally paying millions of dollars for our players.

We went out and apparently chose a bunch of individuals to come together as a team of coaches, and they appeared like the least cohesive group I’ve seen in my lifetime.

We can and probably will transform the entire roster and even a portion of the coaching staff. We appear to be in year 1 of a 4 year process. But, this season did NOT have to be this level of bad for Mario and his crew to *begin* setting their ways. Just look at Duke and other examples. I don’t believe we had to take this road. There aren’t any excuses for losing a team so early and completely.

How Mario and his crew had success solving previous problems at previous stops has very little to do with how to solve current problems. And, I cringe to read he views it that way.

Personally, I had low expectations of Mario’s leadership as an Xs and Os guy. Obviously. That’s not what he’s ever been. I did, however, expect him to utilize the significant resources at his disposal to show great CEO traits. He’s shown some of those in the past, though Oregon was a different environment when he slipped into their CEO role. Here, he needed to rely on his resources to emphasize elite hiring decisions.

Instead, he hired Gattis, who despite being a ‘Broyles’ winner and a coach at top programs, had real question marks around him from the fans of his previous teams and amateurs on this very message board. He was more likely to be a bad fit for this roster than being a good one.

So can we trust further decision making? I think at best we can be skeptical. We need evidence. Not words or phrases.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg. I could probably write another 1000 words, but it all amounts to the same. Our best path forward is based on a very different approach than what we attempted this season. So, I’ll keep going to the games and staying till :00 on the clock. But, top recruiting isn’t going to excite me as much as evidence of sharp decision making.

His issue isn’t effort on the field. It’s fundamentals and situational awareness. Maybe this is an off the field effort issue but he doesn’t lay down.
Maybe it's just perception on my part but I see the way Kam and Tyrique go after it and the way he does and there's a glaring difference to me.... Those two play like they'll run through a brick wall to make a play... I don't get that from James...

have to question oc hires between Gattis and even Moorhead at Oregon

Yep. This is the key. I am skeptical whether or not mario can make the right hires. He hired this staff when he had all the momentum. Now, he doesn’t have that momentum and instead, shows a completely dysfunctional year to prospective coaches. If you’re an outsider and were considering coaching here, it would give you pause. Plus, Mario didn’t exactly distance himself from his reputation as a guy who interferes with his offense too much.

Why has Mario looked like such a beaten down deer in the headlights on the sidelines for pretty much the whole season? He was known as a fiery get in your face type of coach at FIU and Oregon, but other than the Kitchens moment against Bethune, we’ve seen basically none of that here.
Well, there’s no way to know that. Maybe it happened more often but no fan was around to film it.

My opinion is that he is completely dismayed at how bad his team on the field. Does he know how to fix it? I’m sure doubt has crept in.

Yo is this serious? the man has put together our most talented class in years and if he keeps going it’ll be the most talented in 20 years but you out doubting he can get kids in the portal?

Get the **** out of here guy.

Come back when you gain common sense.
I can only assume you are basing this off of recruiting rankings and/or the fact they haven’t played a down of college football yet?

Based on what you see on sidelines attending games and what they show on TV. They love to show coaches yelling at players/refs/others coaches on TV. If Mario was doing more of it, I’m sure they would’ve shown us at some point.

Stop with saying this team has no talent! Has more talent than every team we lost to! Except Clemson who took two Ls to trash teams. If TVD was put in the same exact offense he had last year putting up big numbers he would be in the conversation as one of the best players in the country also, but he ain’t a leader like that though. Injuries also killed us. But what killed us the most was coaching! These coaches have to go man!
Name our most talented players that aren't transfers...
