Post Game Quotes 11/26

LOL the same portal Mario could've used last year? Sure that'll turn it all around. Kids all want to come play in a 1920s style offense and a bend and then break D that he's got going here.

Probably have to bring somebody like Kliff Kingsbury here if you want to have any hope of having anything close to the success USC had in the portal.

USC took 19 players through the portal and went 11-1. Lets see who’s added to the roster and staff before **** talking/predicting anything.

1. USC got the best QB in CFB from the portal; just so happens he was Riley's old QB at OU as well.

2. I'm not sure what the talent-level and depth at USC was, but ours is very poor.

Caleb Williams is not only the best player in CFB this season but he's also a leader.

Mario will improve the talent and build a physical football team, but a lot of our issues start with locker room culture and leadership.

Quotes like that are concerning and make me think he’s going to try to figure it out rather than finding someone else
I still don’t know what to make of it. Could be what you’re saying. Could be that their way is not working and need to figure something else out, which is also concerning. Could be that new player overhaul is needed. Could be so many other things.

Yo is this serious? the man has put together our most talented class in years and if he keeps going it’ll be the most talented in 20 years but you out doubting he can get kids in the portal?

Get the **** out of here guy.

Come back when you gain common sense.

I believe he can be successful here. This year didn't go as planned and when the team quit on him, he didn't fight to get them back. The team had Manny's back because he allowed a ****** culture but they would at least try for him. Only a small faction of the team has Mario's back and I think he decided to just write the year off and start from scratch with his first full recruiting class.

An additional note is that I think he realized Gattis and his preferred system was going nowhere which made trying to salvage the team hopeless. You can cover a lot of culture and locker-room issues up with good schemes (Lashlee) but you in the absence of schematic advantage you only compound your pre-existing deficiencies. Firing Gattis will send a clear message - along with purging the roster - that he is building UM for the long-haul in the fashion of Harbaugh at Michigan.

If he doesn't fire Gattis though... then its an Al Golden situation and we're doomed.

Mario and Harbaugh have nothing in common.

Look at how the Pitt player grabs Van Dykes arm after he had already taken him to the ground. Grabbed it and pushed it back while continuing to hold his arm in a pretty unnatural way
If I’m going to be completely objective & unbiased for a minute; initially, I thought it was dirty, but what the defender was doing was holding TVD down so he couldn’t make a play on the int return. It was a good football play. The OL did TVD & all our QBs dirty, & Gattis did the entire offense dirty by having zero check downs or hot reads when 0 coverage blitz came. That’s y teams gave zero fcks for continuing to run it; there was no fear in getting exposed.

U know y teams limit their zero coverage blitz on SC? B/c Williams will eat that alive on quick slants or a RB slipping out.

It amazes me that we did not call one freakin rb screen to counter these all out blitzes or pressure obvious pressure packages all year long. I can't remember any slants lol. Man this guy Gattis can't leave quick enough.
