Miami has been nationally exposed as an extremely overrated team once again.

OFFENSE:
Mark Richt made his return from retirement to call plays tonight. A lot of us here were curious about the over-reliance on the run early in the season. We clearly observed that the vast majority of run plays were stuffed but the stats were hyper-inflated due to big plays. Well, here you go. Not a single successful running play all game. King got his yards on a few scrambles. Lashlee's insistence on establishing the run to set up the pass cost us this game single-handedly.

Mark Pope, Mike Harley, and Dee Wiggins will not even sniff a practice squad contract in the NFL but they start here. Our receivers are not taught to go up and make a play. They are not capable of it. They are taught to run a route and if it becomes a contested catch - to fall down and try to draw a flag.

King cannot throw deep. Every deep ball is under-thrown. The receivers dont help tho. They do not possess the ability to come back to the ball and make a play.

Lashlee made no half-time adjustments.

DEFENSE:
OMG, our linebackers are beyond useless. This is classic Diaz/Baker. We could literally trot out 9 players on defense and the results would be the same. Our linebackers are so slow, its as if they're mired in concrete. They routinely wash themselves out of the play, and if by some act of God they dont take the bait, they stand still to get pancaked by the tight-end, pulling guard, or running back. They are so frustrating to watch. How many times do we have to watch the defensive linemen or Bolden make tackles downfield.

Defensive line is a sieve. Our tackles are non-factors. Roche literally doesn't know how to set the edge. Clemson feasted running to his side. Please play Harvey over him. IDK if its what they're being coached to do or if its just their lack of ability but the tackles arent doing anything. Not a single gap shot.

Another classic DJ Ivey bonehead play causing a touchdown. Nothing new there.

BOTTOM LINE:
What we witnessed was next-level coaching versus charlatan-level coaching. Diaz is not a real coach. He's a nerd who lucked his way into coaching and got this job because of his fathers political status and his fathers friends on the Board of Trustees. He has never succeeded as a coach and when he eventually gets another offer to leave town, he'll jump on it and fail there too.

Clemson knew exactly what they needed to do to limit our team and they did it. How is Clemson so successful?

Evaluations. They take a bunch of no-name, unranked players and compete for the National Championship every year.

What do they need from their players? TWO things. Football IQ and Fighting Spirit.

Our players are straight DUMB. Clemson's players just have it upstairs. They have a feel for the game thats hard to put into words. But this is the modern way to succeed in football. Everyone can get fast players. Everyone can get strong players. Everyone can get big players. Clemson wins with smart players.

If our game-plan was focused on running King, we could've brought this game to the wire. If we had real coaches who could properly evaluate, and scheme to at least cro-magnon levels, we could compete. If our linebackers were playing actual football instead of Baker-ball, this would be a different game.

Without Bolden and Philips, this is an FCS defense. Clemson's third and fourth team are better than our first team. Nice pick-6 Blades.

Miami will be stuck in irrelevance as long as this coaching staff is in place. At least our offense scored a touchdown against Clemson for the first time in 10 YEARS.

Who's excited for Perry to start next year against Alabama?

this post says so much!!! another year, another game where our coaches and players just looked like a third-tier team.

Love the part about football iq and no stars and football dawgs. that has to be something with the school, I would imagine the guys on our team in gainesville or clemson would be way better than they are with us. Herbie mentioned multiple times about how we didn't know how to come back for the ball. smh. man we are just not a football school like when I was in college.

Canes shouldnt even be allowed to talk to the media for the rest of the season.

Eloquently stated, at the least you have an emotional attachment to the Canes.
I still watch, but expect only futility..

The fact that we ran up the middle against this defense is on Lashlee. He didn’t show us anything last night.

On the other hand, our WR’s will all be working at Wal-Mart in three years. Lashlee knows this.

Unfortunately, so did Venables.
