Agree but I applaud them for privately financing the construction of a stadium. As for public funds to an entertainment district, I'm assuming their intent is to revitalize an area of the city that's in bad shape. I'm not familiar with the area that they're proposing.

But, many cities have taken this approach - revitalized the downtown because of an area/stadium - and it's worked incredibly well. DC's chinatown was the hood back in the day before the arena (where caps and wizards play) was built. Now? Night and day and a completely revitalized area that has brought in commerce, residential, etc.
