No one is keeping Mali off the field, no one. I’ve said he may not start snap 1 against ND (and that is even a maybe) but it won’t be long after that.

With how much you and other are hyping this kid up, what are your expectatrions stats wise for him?

I don’t care about his stats, those will come with time on field. What is clear is this kid is a football player, a football junkie, has all the athletic tools plus the intangibles that can’t be taught. This equals his “hype” - look at his track record so far.

Its alot of hype to place on an undersized kid who played QB last year to walk into the starting lineup of a team competing for the playoffs is a little unlrealistic no? He might not start this year and spend his first year as a backup and thats ok.

Expectations on him are a little too high, thats why i asked about stats.

20 - 275 - 3.

Johnson starts the season but they’ll be splitting reps by October

Thats how i feel. Trying to temper expectations for some here so there wont be any posts asking why the kid called "Baby Jesus" didn't produce or play much in the 2 important OOC games when he was geting hyped up all offseason.

I mean, that would be a very good freshman season for someone entering a crowded receiver room. For reference, X in year two played in all 12 games and went for 24-373-2.

He's a DeeJay Dallas type. DeeJay played QB/WR/RB/DB his senior year in high school and we tried to make him a WR at first. He wasn't even physically developed yet but he was just a guy that wouldn't allow coaches to keep him off the field and a lot of us see that in Toney.
