Position battle - LB

Who do you want to start at linebacker next to Toure for the Miami Hurricanes?

You don't need "play makers" at Linebacker. You need guys who study film relentlessly, can process information, make accurate reads, get us lined-up, make the right checks and play violent.

You're not making any plays at Linebacker if you can't do those things.
Precisely, Honestly, this defense does not require an AA type LB to be great.

Ragone not starting this year? ****. I miss seeing that midget look like a little ***** out there. **** that ******* guy. Acting like they just won the Super Bowl smoking those cigars with washed up bums like Zion, Van *******, and Brinson after they beat Miami.

I chose other and i really want whoever gives us the best chance of winning playing mistake free.

The best 2 or 3 who know their assignments and db's and dl roles as well just in case someone is out of position when audibles or shifts happen we'll be able to line up and shut down the opposition.

Yall are ******* trippin if you think Toure and Smth aren’t going to get torched in coverage. Sure they have straight line speed. But imo they’re not very good rushing the passer either. Pure downhill Run D players.

We need the young guys to play and develop. Period.

Underrated part of wes game

I agree with you said, however, even with laser shop ability to diagnosed plays, you still have to make those plays when they come your way based off, recognizing what the play is

Let’s try it this way

The Ohio State linebacker I believe his name is Sunny styles it’s more likely gonna be the first linebacker drafted in this year‘s NFL draft

versus Miami he read the play, diagnosed the play and when it came time to make a play, he got ran over by Fletcher and most NFL scouting teams view him as one of the top three linebackers in college football

I fundamentally disagree that we don’t need a playmaker at linebacker

The only question that keeps popping up in my head is, why hasn't some of the youth jumped some of these dudes? We know for sure the staff lets the best play always since they been here, and also LB for some reason is a difficult position to evaluate when you look at the NFL a bunch of under rated players out of HS are becoming dogs at that spot.

Some of yall are sleeping on Smith. Staff loves him. And a lot of the "teach tape" that Hetherman shows (of the LB's) involves Chase Smith. Physically he looks like a prototype.

Just looked so slow to the edge and in space last year. Pulling for him though obviously.

I said this before Spring practice even started, a underclassmen could play like Ray Lewis during the spring and still not unseat a marginal upperclassmen

That’s the thing, either they would unseat them or they aren’t it. Cause I find it hard to believe if Ray on the bench he sitting. Bain didn’t sit when he was better than upper class. The minute they threw him in there they had to play him
