I started reading Portnoy’s book Cancel Me If You Can. I found this excerpt pretty cool/interesting.

“Maxim had a feature called Hometown Hotties, Local Smokeshow of the Day **** all over it. In fact Smokeshow become part of the vernacular and is still used to this day to describe a pretty girl. Whenever I tell people I invented the word Smokeshow, they look at me like I’m nuts. Like I’m crazy. Do not be confused, I invented that. I used to root for the Miami Hurricanes when I was a kid and I always loved the way they came out of the tunnel through the smoke at the Orange Bowl. I imagined a pretty girl coming out of the smoke the same way, hence, local Smokeshow of the Day. Like I said, I invented the word.”

I came up with the term "Legend in my own mind." Not to belabor the issue, I was also watching Magnum P.I. and drinking a Coca Cola out of a twelve ounce returnable bottle (5 cents) and laughed so hard I snorted. Which is where the term "snorting Coke" came from. After that, it became something of a thing around here.
 
Portnoy is a huge tool but I respect what he did for small businesses during Covid and what he does with animals.
