This is what I was thinking as well, considering he is from Boston.

However, I think I remember him saying that he wanted to remain in a hot weather environment, which of course would suggest UCLA. Either way, I was not a fan.

He gets a lot of hate but dude put in a ton of work for the Canes. It is crazy 90% of my Canes news (after Pete left 50% before) came from the Palm Beach Post and not the Herald.

I wish him luck. His podcasts were goofy and at times noisy. But he was a solid reporter, and innovative in his trade. We've had some really bad reporters over the years (Navarro and Shandel were outright anti-Cane, and Susan was more interested the feel-good stories and punters than reporting). So on a relative basis, Porter was probably the best beat reporter we've had in years outside of the CIS guys. Ivins putting in the work lately.
