Porter has us at 11-1 in regular season

10-2 sounds about right. Most likely loss will be FSU. Then some off game maybe VT or Pitt. Both of those teams don't beat themselves and will be later in the season when depth issues become more apparent.

Other teams will have injuries too. And their backups aren't as good as ours.
 
UNC VT FSU and ND only games we could lose, went 0-4 against them last year I doubt we do that again. 2-2 or 3-1 would be great.

We have the potential to consistently bring in stud classes like this years and the 2018 squad which will give us championship depth. At that point, we are no longer too concerned with injuries. Right now it is a legit caveat in the success this team will have this year.

It really makes no sense. He provides, by far, the fastest updates and most complete coverage of Canes related news among the major publications down there. And it's really not even close. I don't really know what more people want. Obviously he's not in the recruiting game, newspapers are never expected to be. The list, (not including Ariz), is probably something like:

1. Porter
2. B. Jackson (who only does it part time)...
(huge dropoff...)
3. SMD
4. Chirinos

I'd say I'm most "concerned" about that game but lets be honest. Outside of FSU anything but W's is a failure.

11-1 is possible for the 1st time in a long time but this team is still not dominant enough to be be a two score fav in every game it plays which is pretty much what it takes to get 11+ wins.
 
We're going to smash VT, who has no one we should fear, and Notre Dame is a dumpster fire with a coach who is literally walking a gangplank into unemployment. Sick of hearing about UNC. They have accomplished nothing of note in football. Nada. Zipo. We're no longer the Randy Shannon or Al Golden Miami Hurricanes. We are coming for folks. Believe that.
 
Looking at the schedule, yes 11-1 seems very attainable.

That said, until they prove otherwise, I'm going to assume they drop at least one game to an inferior team.

Call me Coker/Shannon/Goldenized if you want but I can't remember the last season it didn't happen.

I hope this is the year the corner finally gets turned.

Add Pitt to that list as well. Not only did they lose their QB and RB, They've only beaten us twice since 1980. In 1997 when we finished the season 5-6, and in 2014 when we went 6-7. To say you're concerned about having to play Pitt, at home, is on par with being concerned about us being a sub-.500 team.
 
Porter is assuming that Richt has beaten the binary nature of the FSU game out of this team. I hope he is correct.
 
It is apparent on here that some just don't understand how good our defense is. Barring injury, we will have one of the most elite defenses in the country. I know we don't have the depth at all positions but what we do have is Diaz, Kool and Rumph which know how to coach their respective units. Richt ain't stupid, he has been around long enough to know that he needs to improve his play calling and I also think our offense will work at a much higher tempo than what you saw last year. Richt had to knock the rust off when he got back in the trenches, where he hasn't been in a good 8 years while at UGA. I think we all should quit frettin' and enjoy the ride. This coaching staff is far removed from the golden girls and no defense that has warped our minds because it's been going on for so long. Of course, this is my opinion only.

I dont see louisville losing any regular season game this year... they will **** on fsu like last year and beat clemson im putting them to beat miami in acc championship because until i see rosier play a game im not drinking the cool aid... Thoughts?
