Portal TE Board

Mentioned in another thread, met Baumanns mom at the tailgate fee days ago. They are not expecting a waiver.

She was also pretending as if Mensah to Miami is a "hopefully he choses miami" type of thing.

So maybe Mario tells all the parents if they release any info, they die.

If he got a waiver I wouldn't even want him back.

I'd have literally zero faith in this staff to play guys over him. Bauman would be fine as a TE3 type who could be a redOne threat on Play Action and can block fine. He was horrible blocking first half of season, but was fine by end.

But ffs there is no chance they play Gilbert or Mueller over him next yr. Lofton either.

So no way in **** I'd want him back even if he got a waiver

6’5 235lbs. Unfortunately needs weight. But real good athlete and production. Had a 72 overall grade and 82.7 Receiving grade. Avg to below avg run blocker grades. 2.39 Y/RR!!!! This yr which is excellent. Had 21 catches for 17ypc. This dude is a seam route winner. Had 17 1st downs on 21 catches. Only played 47% inline this yr though. IF this dude could put on like 10lbs and be decent/willing in trrun blocking he’d prob be a good take.

Dallas Payne FIU RS SR
6’4” 250lbs. Pretty solid athlete, decent enough production with 1.36 Y/RR this yr. Seems avg at best run blocker, but honestly probably no worse than Bauman.

I’m hoping with Mensah we go more 3 and 4 receiver sets. We’ve rolled TEs out for 3 years with Dawson and even with Arroyos talent we got limited production.

I hear you but we still need to keep a talented stable.. Even in our worst years Miami has always been able to recruit the position with talent.. This is pure neglect, it should not be THIS bad at Miami.. That neglect has already cost us a championship

Bauman should be band from campus and investigated for potentially fixing the national championship. Plus i think he's out of years.
 
6-7, 255 pound, sophomore Luka Gilbert, will have to be ready. At worst, the staff needs to bring in a TE #2 so Loften can stop cosplaying at the position.

I had a different opinion of Bauman than was on this board last off season when he joined the program. I was not expecting much from him. He clearly made some mistakes and was about what I expected. He also made some good plays for us. I know what's in our TE room and the TE portal situation, also. If Bauman gets a waiver. I welcome him back with open arms. I would feel better about our TE room than I do right now. I would hope Bauman and Mensah can get back what they had. That's my take.

Not having him back is additional by subtractikn cause if he returned there would be no chance in **** he isn't playing the same 700 ******* snaps he just played this yr. It is ridiculous.

I'd 100% rather go into the season with the POSSIBILITY of Gilbert+Mueller stepping up than just another ******* BS season of Bauman playing that many ******* snaps.

Bauman WOULD be fine as a TE3. But if he returns this staff WILL play him as TE1, which we already now was ******* terrible, literally maybe the worst starting TE we've had here in like20 years. Beyond the most useless Receiving Threat at TE I can remember us having....

He sucks , he missed more than caught . Yeah I’ll welcome that packiderm back to Duke . Plant a another mole on Duke

I would rent the U-Haul myself, drive it to his place, and load his stuff on my own if I had to.

Jesus that's overly dramatic. The neglect cost us a Championship? '

Riley Williams caught everyone by surprise and left because he got home sick. We already had Lofton who was supposed to be a breakout star this season & Bauman looked good at Tulane and seemed to fit what we were looking for.

I know some are taking the loss harder than others but **** you're acting like the same people that got us to the championship should be reprimanded because we lost it..
 
The Bauman I saw on film playing for Tulane was far better than the Bauman I saw at Miami. Given his connection with Mensah and the fact we'll have a new TE coach, I could see a major improvement from the kid. Would warmly welcome him back if he got a waiver. And still hope he's #2 at best.

At this point, I'd go get Skinner back from UL. Doubt he has an NIL of significant value. He's a RS Senior, could just enroll in classes as a grad student.

Bauman was the worst starter on the entire team from game 1 to the final game, where he capped it off with THE play that most accounts for the Loss in the National Championship game for us...

Skinner is still not very good.
