Portal jumpers mid season

you are playing up to 14 games a year : if you land in the Championship series: and by bowl time you might be lucky to field 60 players : with injuries and transfers : this is really wild

The portal should not even be open during the season. NCAA needs to change that.

If you want to quit the team mid-season or slack until you get kicked off, fine. But the NCAA shouldn't be dangling the portal option that makes leaving seem too easy.
agree : you have a set roster going into the season, who you going to redshirt etc, and it can go to **** in about 3 games :

I have no problem these kids jumping ship for them to play. College football for most is the last time they’ll ever play football. Everyone does what’s best for them.
don't disagree, but you have to come up with something, between injuries, mid season transfers, and players bailing out of bowl games, you might be lucky to field a team by the end of the year :

I don’t think it’s a problem yet. Though it may trend that way one day.

Does this apply to all students? These are STUDENT-athletes no?

Only way to survive is to be able to sign and play portal players during the season like the NFL as well as create contracts with payments that dissolve if a player leaves. It will be all about incentives now. A complete commercialization of the student athlete.

You like a player on another team, offer him money, playtime, girls etc to come transfer and play at your school.
