See I dobt understand that . So kids can just leave but want an official portal ? I’m not sure how they can stop them. Stuff is going to happen so closing the spring portal is stupid . Fletcher Would have left we lost two to the portal we wouldn’t have enough RBs to make It . I’m sure lot of teams will have this issue . Kids get hurt

Essentially any student can withdraw enrollment from one school and enroll in another. Their availability would be based in the academic calendar. I imagine this will be common after spring football. The portal is really nothing but a database

I think the depth of knowing someone’s background will be the key to finding the “gems” out there.
If I’m not mistaken, Keionte played nickel when he first got to college but then last year wanted to play outside corner and didn’t do so well. I wanna say that going back to his position was not an option as that spot was held down by someone else by that time, so he went into the portal and convinced him to come here and play the nickel and scheme it to allow him to be a true game changer.

Find those players where the math ain’t mathin and find out why.

I think this is the phase of the portal where you look for traits more than talent. We needed an enforcer/ tone setter on the back end of the defense and that's what Jakobe Thomas brought. We needed a nickel that was physical and can fill in run lanes and that's what we got in 0. We needed experienced guys in the WR room to push/bring along our young talent like JoJo, so you bring in a Tony Johnson. We desperately needed speed, got Keelan Marion.

The staff went big game hunting early, now we see what specific traits they need this phase.

This is where it helps to bring in new staff members from other college (vice NFL) programs. I think Etheredge being responsible for Scott. You also have the former NewMexState coaches who brought some of their players, including Diego Pavia and, of course, Indiana and their portal players.
